the August rush
Hey everyone
Hasn’t it been a crazy couple of weeks? It has been for us.
I can’t believe we are going to move.
It doesn’t seem real. Part of me doesn’t even want it to be real.
Moving away from a place that I’ve been proudly called a ‘poster boy’ for – some place I love, is more painful than joyful.
We are doing what we are doing to set our children up for a better life, a better life than what we would be able to support here.
Forget the fact that the eldest is now flat out refusing to help and spends most of the time wasting everyone’s time and energy—slamming doors, talking about how we ruined her life.
Anyway!
We started the month by going to the Gresham Farmers’ market.
That afternoon, I met up with someone and paid $20 for a cheap version of Google Nest. I took the one we had off the wall (as we won it during a Blazers game), and we will bring it with us to the next house.

On Sunday, the wife had some time with friends, so I got to have the kids at home. See a selfie of all of us enjoying some ice cream.
Aside from everything else, there is something we have been dealing with. Smoke.
The silver lining? It makes for a pretty red sun in the sky.
I met up with Candice (from work), and I was gifted a few of the laptops they were no longer using. These computers are better than anything we have been using, so I’ll gladly take them.
Also, a couple of years ago, we got rid of our TV box in the garage, so we didn’t have anything to pack it in. We went to Walmart, and a new TV box (empty) from someone who purchased the TV and left it was sitting in the parking lot.
Recycle time. It just fit our TV (almost like it was made for it). Blessing counted.

Hmm,
Arabella goes off to Black Lake next week (and so does the wife).
August 8th marked a sad ending here in Portland. The Lloyd Center mall is permanently closed. We stopped by for the last day and to reminisce a little along the way.
Until next time
just Pray
