3 months
Well our girl turned 3 months on Tuesday. She spent the day in the hospital. Monday she wasn’t feeling well. Had a fever all day. We gave her tylenol and kept an eye on it. After dinner we checked her temperature one last time. Her fever was 102.5 so we decided it warranted a trip to the emergency room. We figured they would give her some tylenol and send her home. The nurse who took her temperature said most parents just don’t give enough meds. However, after some blood work and a UA they decided to admit her. They said she had a UTI and a Kidney infection 🙁 our poor girl. She was a little fussy but gave us no indication she was in pain.
They said she’d probably be there at least 48hrs. I asked the doctor what we could do to prevent it in the future and they said we couldn’t really and that it’s common for little girls. We’ll just keep changing and bathing her.
We stayed with her for the night and the next day. I didn’t want to leave her but Jake had already missed one meal. We couldn’t let him starve. We ran home and fed him, grabbed some clothes, and went right back to the hospital. We called Emily to stay with her so she wouldn’t be alone. There was no way we were leaving her alone! It was my first time leaving her with anyone but Jay and I was a little sad but I knew she was in good hands.
We stayed the next night and waited for her to be released. She was doing much better. Now she is home with us snoozing away and taking antibiotics. Tomorrow she will go and see her regular doctor for a follow up.
Today we’re home and hanging out. She started her reading program today 🙂 she seems to like it. I wanted to start it on Tuesday but since we were at the hospital we postponed.
Just a few more photos from the last couple of weeks….
