2023 – March part 2

Hey again,

Do you know how I mentioned that we were going to go see more of the art that we missed?

We did. That next weekend.

The first picture (below) was painted in 1483. Man think of all the history that just this painting could tell if it could speak. The people’s hands that it has passed through, the places it had been on display, and the people who saw said painting. The picture is called “Madonna of the Magnificat”

The third picture is an example of the type of candle holders that were used (gold). I can’t even imagine the house these were used in.

We also went to a museum that was within walking distance from the gallery. It had a cool library with seating in the shape of Oregon.

It was a part of the “Experience Oregon” section. They even had our favorite bridge in Portland (the St. Johns Bridge) made in Legos with details about it. Definitely worth the trip. It was a great day to take everything in. Partly cloudy with a chance of rain.

That following week the kids got sick. The sickness was only mild prior with maybe a slight runny nose. Then it got serious fairly quickly. Elijah and Arabella had a high temp of 102, and Luca had 103. Until they were feeling better (which took about 2 weeks) we skipped church and any other events that we had scheduled and stayed at home without any visitors.

On the first day of Spring (and my parent’s 46th anniversary) we saw a couple of raccoons going through our yard. This isn’t typical, but we were alerted in the morning about some activity on the cameras.

kind of exciting to see ‘trash pandas’ as they are sometimes called.

Until next time.
