2023 – February part 3

hey

What else could happen in the remaining part of the month!?

Well, at the end of the month, it is Arabella’s birthday and my baby girl is turning 9. How did that happen?

The forecasters said it would be cold. They forecasted a snowstorm with a likelihood of 0.5 inches or below. They were wrong.

As you can see we got a bit more than they said we would. 10.8 inches at the Portland NWS site and over 12 inches locally where we are. Fun times! The only issue now is that everything is iced over! The temps for the last few days have been in the low 20s/teens and there is a chance for snow in the first part of March. We will see how that plays out.

The ice on the road was a bit of a worry that it would have put a little damper on the birthday plans we had for the girl. It didn’t- in typical Portland style, it melted mostly off a few days later.

Below you will see a photo of our front yard, with snow angels in 4 different spots. We all went outside for our own little ‘polar plunge’ – no jackets and in short sleeves! Ara, Lijah, the wife, and I all did it. Luca said no. hahaha That night Ara and I went and spent a good hour playing in the snow. It was fun, she enjoyed it – afterward I took a photo with her as I warmed her up (see her rosy red cheeks).

The following day my parents visited for the upcoming birthday. We went out to Elmers, Black Angus, and Red Robin. How crazy is that?! I think it is. The snow however has been falling a little bit every day (which is something Arabella wanted to happen). It hasn’t been accumulating but it’s pretty to see and watch fall.

I’ll end this month with my baby girl. Arabella celebrated her ninth birthday (how is that possible?!) and she desired for us to decorate in Stranger Things style so we did. She was very happy. Above are a few of the photos from the decorating that we put together for her.

The National Weather Service says it will be cooler than normal through at least May! I’ll take it. To be honest, I love that news. Look at what is marching in.. it is MARCH!
