2022 – October part 3

Hey again

As the month started to wind down, we started to get some cooler weather. Rain too! I know, crazy.

We took our annual trek over to Papa’s pumpkin patch on the west side. Brought my parents with us (for the first time) too.

I think the photos from the new iPhone are better than before. I have to say – I’m impressed. If you see a photo of Ara and Lijah at the bottom, that was pretty much pitch black outside at the Pirates of Pinehurst event.

Did you notice the gas price?! They seem to be falling. The last time I mentioned this they shot up to over $5/gallon – hopefully, that won’t happen this time!

Then the kids got sick. Each one. Ara, Lijah, and Luca all were down for the count. Running fevers, throwing up, and having dio -but sleeping when they weren’t doing the other things I mentioned. We called the nurse line that we have from our insurance and they told us that it is a viral infection that is getting passed around this season. The best course of action is home medication. Give them water, make sure they aren’t delirious and the most important part is to ensure they are getting fluids. We set up a timer to give them 5 to 10 oz of water (or Pedialyte) every 5 minutes (per instruction).

Even though they were still sick, we made a makeshift Trick or Treat (at home) for them. We even carved pumpkins (doing most of the work for the sick littles except Arabella who was determined to make something all by herself). I think she did a great job. Here are the pumpkins as they were sitting on our porch last night (the same night we carved them).

The kids were happy and they appeared to be improving. They have been able to hold down some crackers and drinks without throwing it all up. I’ll take the improvement even at small levels.
