2021 – April part 2
Hey everyone,
On our way to the covered bridges, we also try to fit as much in as we can and find ourselves stopping at random hikes or waterfalls. The Pacific Northwest is filled with things to do if you simply want to do them.
Below is a great waterfall that the kids and I checked out on a quick hike while Maryia stayed with Luca in the car. We shall be back!
As is our tradition, we took a trip over to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. There were great and clear shots of everything – in nearly every shot you couldn’t help but capture the majestic Mt. Hood looming in the distance. Another fun part was that the kids each wanted to take a photo with a tractor that they felt was made for them.
I haven’t talked much about COVID-19 lately, but they are FINALLY releasing a vaccine. They think it will be more than 1 or 2 times that you will need to take it, but we will see how that unfolds.
Luca is in a really cute stage right now and occasionally if I’m on my phone he pops up between my legs to get my attention and say hello (see below). The next couple of photos are showing the wife and me getting our COVID shots. I can’t understand why anyone would willingly choose to not get the vaccine seeing how many people it has affected, and seeing the toll it has taken on people and their lives. The only reasons I could consider are if you are immuno-compromised or it would cause some allergic reaction or something along those lines.
Despite that, there is a mass of people who swear they will never get the shot and those same people refuse to wear face masks. Or better yet, when they do they leave their nose uncovered, or maybe they leave it on but only on their chin or lower. Other people wear a face-sleeve type thing which studies have shown does absolutely nothing.
End of that soapbox rant, but it is frustrating. After getting our shots (we survived, hooray! hahaha) we went on a few more hikes to see waterfalls. Now that Multnomah Falls had the upper hike opened we walked to the bridge (not much further with 3 kids tho) and enjoyed the view. During spring time it is also easy to just drive through a neighborhood and catch a beautiful tree with some old-style building just going unappreciated. Let’s put an end to that – notice the little things!
Everybody remembers Nyan cat (see here) right? Well, on one weekend we found an artist who had drawn the famous pop-tart cat on a wall in Portland. It is the little things.
