Hey everyone,

Another update – but this time I have something for everyone to mull on.

I wasn’t doing much today, just laundry this afternoon before church and a story on Iran caught my eye. I also looked up some stuff, so here is the story of the day.

Iran’s current leader is funding chaos. He denies the holocaust, is harboring Al Qaeda and terrorists, supporting the radical islamics. At a current UN meeting in New York City, he said, “Oh Mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure being, the one that will fill this world with justice.”

During the meeting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s (Iran’s president) felt a bright light around him, “I felt it myself, I felt the atmosphere suddenly changed, for those 27 or 28 minutes all the leaders of the world did not blink, when I say they didn’t move an eyelid I am not exaggerating. They were looking as if a hand was holding them there and had just opened there eyes to the message of the Islamic republic.” He is a part of a radical group that believes man can hasten the appearance of the Mahdi, by creating chaos in the world. Islamic religion (like Christanity) believes in heaven and hell and life after death.

They believe that Mahdi will have a second coming. Following by judgment day and a battle by good and evil. There is a well in Iran that is covered by a green metal box that Iranians believe will be the place where the Mahdi returns to earth. People bring Prayers and kiss the box, they say ‘if you ask him the right way your prayers will be answered.”

2.1 billion Christians.

1.3 billion Muslims.

They also believe that when Mahdi comes back he will be accompanied by Jesus Christ, or they refer to him as the prophet Esa. The Mahdi will take Jesus to Mecca, they will circumnavigate the Kaaba (the holiest place in Islam) together, The Mahdi will teach Jesus to pray at which time Jesus will replace the Gospel with the Koran and all Christians will convert to Islam because Islam will be the one lasting true religion.

The Kabba is that big black box in the middle of the picture.

Inside the Kaaba, there is a marble floor. The interior walls are clad with marble half-way to the roof; tablets with Qur’anic inscriptions are inset in the marble. The top part of the walls is covered with a green cloth decorated with gold embroidered Qur’anic verses. Lamps hang from a cross beam; there is also a small table for incense burners. The building is believed to be otherwise empty. Caretakers perfume the marble cladding with scented oil, the same oil used to anoint the Black Stone outside.

Muslims throughout the world face the Kaaba during prayers. For most places around the world, coordinates for Mecca suffice. However, in the Sacred Mosque, worshippers pray in concentric circles radiating outwards around the Kaaba. Therefore, the focus point is in the middle of the Kaaba. As one is not permitted to take a GPS reading from on top or inside the Kaaba, an estimate must be made from various positions around the Kaaba. According to the Qur’an, the Kaaba was built by the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Ismail (Ishmael)

This also gives us a chance to Pray for our brothers and sisters overseas. To pray for all the lost in the world, that they would be delievered from this. There is so much potential for the Gospel to shine through in these parts of the world. They are seeking so much for answers. The world is hungry, but for what they do not know.

Good news – a Christian Pastor was released in the region recently in Iran with no comment from officials as to why he was released.

“The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head. To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you brought my life up from the pit, O Lord my God. “When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, Lord, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple.” Jonah 2:5-7

Tomorrow is father’s day, Happy Fathers Day.

God Bless, Pray Hard.
