Hey,

Update: I checked on the credits being able to transfer… and there isn’t a clear answer yet – so I will have to check back with them tomorrow.  I checked with Cascade, but they gave me a questionable answer.  I will have to confirm that through the government website and the university.   jshox.com is also updated.

Next line of business… well I guess that’s all I did today.  I didn’t do much else.  I don’t like staying on campus so I went home at 5 for dinner and came back around 9:30.  Ate at home.. watched some TV – and part one of BTTF (love that movie)

E-mailed Perry about that Imago Dei Community church I went to a few weeks ago.. I just described it to him like this :

The church was pretty nice.. but packed with people.  It was tucked off a small street a mile or two away from downtown Portland.  We (my family and I) entered in and the first thing you do is notice the age of the building.  By entering alone if you didn’t know it you would swear you were entering into an old catholic building.  Stain glass windows all around, wood flooring and vaulted ceilings.  In front of us was the pulpit and we sat second row.  The music was kind of mellow.. it was good.  Some of the songs were presented in a great way.  I went a few weeks ago (the day after I got back to AZ) so I apologize for not remembering every fine detail.  I think the service was good.. the person was straight from the bible and it was insightful.  The only part of the whole service that stuck out from the norm was the communion.  During communion they had people go up and do whatever they want.  It wasn’t bad.. it was just different.  Watching it unfold you saw almost everything.  Certain people felt out of place.. so they dipped the bread (up in front you walk up and dip the bread in the juice) and sat down.  Others knelt down before the table and prayed for a few minutes before taking part.  Others would do the Father, Son and Holy Spirit sign on them like someone from Catholicism would do.  The whole thing lasted for.. oh I would say 10 minutes or more.  Then the service ended.. coffee was outside under a tarp while the mist fell down on the courtyard.

I think I did a good job reviewing so I thought I would share that.. because I didn’t originally say a lot about it when I posted about it.  Next topic…

SEX SELLS

Do you see that?  That kind of stuff should not be up….  That kind of stuff is posted all over myspace and countless places on the Internet.. and it doesn’t do any good emailing the company or telling them those kind of ad’s are degrading to women and don’t help men at all either.  Infact it probably helps their cause.  They know it brings out emotion- and for guys (even some girls) they see that and immediately go ‘hmm I wonder’ but what if for once we didn’t do that.

What are they telling us in that ad alone?  They say.. click on me I can help you meet your true love that will be like this.  “Find Love Like No Other”

UGH.  It frustrates me.  We are not censored against this stuff now that it effects us less.. so they come out with more ways to show it to us.. or to present it to us.

Come on people.  Pornography and the very Idea is a big enough problem in the basic magazines and on TV ad’s.  For both men and women.. You don’t have to strip down a woman or a man naked to know what point you are getting across.  And what point is that?

Consider yourself warned.  *steps off soap box*

Chew on this:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’  But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” – Matthew 5:27-28  (I do not think meant only men, but women too.)
