They’ve redone the blogging thing for xanga.. looks a lot better… smoother and such.. I like it.
On the Jfront…. what’s been happening…
A day or two ago Dayna, Jay and myself went to hear someone who was on CNN hahah.. well … we did.
It was a journalist who got Kidnapped in Iraq. He is on the CNN website still.. (click on Safe.. then.. Garen) anywho.. he recently released a book.
He and his fiancee read about 30 minutes from their book.. then they took questions. It was insightful… not sure if I would buy the book – but it isn’t everyday you get to hear that type of stuff. I was interested.. fascinated.. I wanted to know..
What about God? What is this persons relationship with God? Surely being held captive and then being released thanks to the FBI – surely he must have had a God experience… right?
Hmm.. nobody asked in the bookstore during the question time.. so we left.
Before we turned the block.. I said ‘I wonder what what religion he equates himself to… if he is a Christian or what?’ Dayna had the same question as I did. So I said ‘Lets go ask.. they said they would be around for a while’ Sure enough they were still around.
So what are their takes on before and after.. all the middle stuff.. how did that play out in any of this?
There was a guy and his Fiancee.. when asked what type of faith the guy responded something like this
‘I am not religious… I never have been religious.. but I guess you could say I am searching and practice Yoga and I believe and buddha and stuff- but I’m not religious.’
She responded – ‘I was brought up a catholic.. and when this all happened.. it was a whirlwind of emotion. With the phones ringing and my place turning into a Operating station for information – I guess I never really thought about God until I saw the video playing on CNN, then I thought about God… but now I’m looking into Buddhism.’
It wasn’t really the answer I was expecting. None the less- I am glad that I got to ask them.
The next day I just hung out around school.. and last night I went to some Jazz concert thing at this small Mississippi Pizza place.. not bad… but not worth paying for either.
Earlier today I went to the dollar store and bought some stuff for my dorm (to clean.. and to make this place smell better – FYI the dorms smell – yet everyone says mine smells nice… shhh I use glade plugins..)
Tonight are clean checks and so I don’t think I’ll be doing much other than reading for some tests tomorrow.
They have a word counter on this thing now.. its kinda cool 😉 I like it.
I want it to rain more…. booo its not raining.
Blazers are on a 4 game winning streak.. yeah baby! They almost lost last night – it was a close call but they pulled it out (they should have.. they were up by like 17 in the 4th and down by 1 with 30 seconds to go.)
Thats all I have for now… unless I think of something else later.
