hey hey
So how has everyone been? Has it been a week already that I’ve been out here by myself? Time is passing by quickly.
Its a little past 3 in the morning and I’m updating my xanga, because I know I won’t be able to .. well for some time – maybe until Sunday afternoon-ish and I don’t want to forget everything and make it a lot longer than it has to be.
We went to twin rocks on the Oregon coast. It was good… I got to meet more people personally… and I also got to play basketball the very first night.
Yeah – the first night. Here is the kicker- I didn’t bring my basketball shoes for which my feet don’t get tore up – so put two and two together and you know that my foot got really tore up (it is still quite.. uhm.. sore). 3 hours of good tempo basketball and a nights worth of games will do that to you. I thought to myself : Self.. what did you do?! You won’t be able to go swimming or anything now because of how much it will sting and it just wont be good.
To my reply : Self – get over it. You won’t get this chance again, so why worry about it? I mean what’s the worst that will happen?
Reply : You could lose a toe or something
To my reply : Well…. uhmm lets hope not. So lets go for it all, and if it gets way too horrible we will just stop.
I talk to myself.. or at least in my head sometimes I do. So yeah.. I felt like that Chris Tomlin song where it says, ‘Running through the forest, jumpin’ in the lake – bare feet on beaches white’ So to say the least I went swimming in a lake – it wasn’t really even cold after the first like.. 2 minutes, jumped off this trampoline a few times into the lake, and then went boating. After all was said and done went to the ocean, walked the beach (bare feet of course) and got slightly wet. First night we had a campfire in the woods – in the forest, and man was it nice. The stars shone so brightly above and the silence was in everything but the ocean across the street, I mean.. did it mention it was nice?
The second night we were performed to by two guys from the college who are really talented – I was impressed.. by not only the depth of the words sang, but of the talent. We also got to hear from the Visions (a part of choir) group – it was good. On the beach that night the fog rolled in and we didn’t see much of the stars, but the fire that we had attempted to keep us warm.
It didn’t.
I went inside the eating hall and got like two or three cups of hot chocolate and sipped on them until I got warm.
Afterwards I went to bed, almost was late in waking up for breakfast – but I made it just in time. Came back to Portland after a quick stop in the Tillamook cheese factory. We decided to go out tonight so we went downtown. It was a girl, 5 others guys and myself to start with. We ended up seeing like.. 15+ people from college. There was this Italian music festival in Pioneer Square (along with a lot of other Italian stuff) so we just looked around for a little bit. The music started playing, and we decided to join in on the fun. Crazy as it sounds, the shy boy from Arizona who usually doesn’t talk to anyone new- danced with a few girls (yes danced, like even in a slow dance) he didn’t even know. It was fun. We are going to go back tomorrow night. Wait.. that’s tonight- oh shoot you got my point.
Finally got back to the campus around 11:30 and went to Circle K around 12:25ish and got some coffee and cheetos. ;o) Walked back and had a long conversation with Allen until just 10 minutes ago. It was good. I also spoke to our RA (resident instructor person) and got some good information on the school and the students.
But now.. I must depart, shower and be up for breakfast at 8:30.
Have a good night, Pray Hard.
God Bless
Ciao
