2018 – June

June bug!

In the first part of June, we took a trip on the MAX. Elijah had his first ride on it, and he was impressed. Also took a family photo. To show how much Elijah was starting to like food you can see a photo of some blueberry-banana flavored meal he had.

Arabella and I took a photo while waiting for mom who went into the store. This reminded me of some memories of her that I still hold dear. What am I talking about? Well, ever since this girl was just a little one, she has (historically) sat behind her mom. Once she got flipped around I’d always have a good view of her with the rearview mirror. Anyway, it didn’t matter the trip or the reason but she would always dance with me in the car. Bad mood? I could dance with her and she would snap out of it. Sleepy drive on the way to Arizona? She would be in the back dancing with her daddy. So many memories of me and her just dancing in the car while going just about anywhere.

We also kept going to ALC. They had Thursday night services. Due to fewer people going during this time, they tried to lure some regulars by offering a kind of “family night” where they would have a treat or a meal provided by some local companies. This was every third Thursday of the month. We also ensured that we spent time and met up with Gramps.

Then an ouch happened. Arabella was in the condo that we had and wanted to be picked up. I picked her up but her face didn’t clear the underside of the cabinet. It ended up giving her a gnarly gash. We took her to the doctor and they bandaged her up. You can see her and mommy making sad faces before she got the bandages on.

Around this time we also went to the 2018 Starlight Parade for the Rose Festival here in Portland. It was a lot of fun. They had Blaze (from the Blazers) out and dancing, the kids liked the inflatable planes they had as they reminded them of our recent travels. Elijah also liked the construction equipment they had with the lights (below).

Never did I ever think that we would be able to take our kids to see Back to the Future in the theater. Joy Cinema provided us the opportunity. We found Marty outfits for the kids to wear and took them to see the show!

Ending the month with a little bit of good news. At Intel, they had a “kids day” where you can take your littles to work. Show them what you do, where you spend your time, and who you talk with. They also had a bunch of activities set up for kids to do. Games, ice cream, and even photo booths. I would have taken Elijah too but he was a little young to actually enjoy the things to do. For the second time, Arabella was able to visit my workplace (previously while I was at American Express). She insisted that I dress up with her so she found a hat for me to wear.

Crazy kid.
