Pirates & pumpkins and more

Hey there

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins. I went the simple route and did a ‘home sharing’ inspired carving. Ara loved hers after she made it throw up seeds. Luca loved his because he was happy like he is.

We also attended events, including the Pirates of Pinehurst once again. Included below are also photos from New Hopes event. They had a bigger event this year, which is excellent. I loved seeing more kids attend the event. Arya was invited and came as well. She did have some listening issues and, unfortunately, was a bit rude as well. I told Ara that after she got to see the stricter side of me, she might not be around for a little while.

What else? We dropped Ara off for a sleepover at a friend’s house and didn’t have plans afterwards, so we went to a fall party in Molalla that Angel and Louis had invited us to. Louis was offering chocolate-covered locusts, but I declined. Elijah thought that he was joking about them being locusts, so he took one. Then he didn’t take any more. Can’t blame him there.

Thanks to the local library, we also took a trip to the Japanese Garden. We love seeing the colors change this time of year. Everything pops. We didn’t get to catch it in a sunny setting, but it was still lovely. The kids were going a bit cray the whole time, which made it less relaxing. Some people commented while walking by that they were at a zoo and motioned to our kids. Why even say stuff like that?

Finally, on Halloween, Ara and Lijah painted their faces. They looked like characters from Coco (which we didn’t watch this year; in fact, we didn’t even watch Hocus Pocus this year!).

She spent the evening trick-or-treating with one of her friends, Sethanne.

That really wraps up the month! November, here we come.
