hey there,
We started off this month by going to a nearby hotel for the Holiday weekend. We found a place that was nearby and that had good reviews (and a pool, this was the main thing we looked for) so that the kids could go swimming.
We ended up finding a hotel and they had this scavenger hunt for bigfoot. We all split up to search the hotel grounds to find this elusive creature.
My little guy (Luca) ended up finding him hiding. Due to this find – all of the kids got a toy. Luca and Elijah got a car, Arabella got two alicorns and Ezra got a baby toy (a caterpillar pop it toy) as well. Kinda cool and a nice surprise for sure.
Back to work that week I had to work remotely (in the car) some of the time as we had various doctor appointments for either the wife or the kids. It could be worse- at least I have the option to do that. I consider myself fortunate.
That weekend we went to church (see Ezra climbing one of the chairs at church. He wouldn’t let us listen to the pastor so we waited outside. Next week we will drop him off at the kids area along with the others. He typically doesn’t fuss or make much noise. Normally sleeps during the whole thing – but not today. Anyway, after church we went to the “End of the Oregon Trail” in Oregon City. They had a bunch of stuff to teach the kids (history wise) and they even were able to dress up a bit.
The next weekend we took a trip to a museum for Tektronix. I enjoyed it and it seems like the kids did, at least part of the time. They even got to handle the Emmy Award that Tektronix had won for helping out with movies any whatnot.
What else?
We went to the park. The kids love the park. I think they would spend every hour of ever day at the park if it were up to them.
As of September 18 it was official that Portland will be getting an WNBA team again! (they previously had the Portland Fire) To celebrate the Blazers put the Rip City sign in the WNBA Orange. Had to stop for a photo with the kids as we were driving right by that area and well… when in rome!
That is about it for now. Fall is upon us! I can’t wait for the cooler weather and the leaves to change.
