Unending

This month seems like it just won’t end.

So we were using the upstairs bathroom, and guess what we noticed: a leak. It was big enough to leak on our boxes that we hadn’t fully unpacked yet, and some that were still sealed. The ceiling was leaking in more than one spot.

We made another appointment, this time to have a plumber come out and take a look. A few days later, they opened up the pipes and noticed they were almost completely clogged.

Lovely.

They informed us that they would need to return to complete the repair and that, in the meantime, we should use only the downstairs bathroom.

At this point, I really don’t have words for things. They did return, and when they did, they informed us that the repairs were larger than they first thought (and that we might want to open a home claim on our insurance). Then informed us they can’t fix it until sometime in October because of the size of the job. Then we will need to get someone to fix the drywall.

At this point, I don’t have too many words for things. We have considered all options, and our home in Gresham isn’t selling, so we still have a mortgage on that side, too.

Xfinity came out! They said they couldn’t do anything as the house doesn’t have any line running to it, so they had to schedule us out another week before they could do that kind of an install.

We did, however, finally get around to getting a kitchen table (see below).

If you can’t see the picture of the door, it has a bunch of markings from a family who lived in this house in the 60s. I thought it was pretty cool. Ara wants to start making our own markings next to the ones they had.

We finally got around to getting new licenses.

Also, because we aren’t sure if the roof will be fixed this year (and given that the garage roof is leaking), we put together the garage shelves. It can’t hurt it any more than having Everything all across the garage floor – in fact, this should help keep things dryer overall.

See the photo of Ezra?

We ordered a couch from Temu. He is a fan. It isn’t bad, especially compared to the prices we were seeing in person.

The last couple of days, I’ve been in some substantial pain (because why not? Everything else has been going well). The right side of my face has been aching, and now I’ve developed a fever too. Aches all over.

I have no insurance, so hopefully this passes soon.

Before heading to bed, I checked my email, and it seems like they are going to eliminate my role in the short term. What a fantastic way to end the month.
