Twisters and more
Today, we drove from Enid, Oklahoma (where we stayed). We learned that it is also where an EF4 tornado touched down earlier this year, headed to Wakita, which was prominently featured in the movie Twister.
Thankfully, we were able to schedule an appointment to visit the Twister movie museum. They had a bunch of stuff from Twister, including the more recent sequel, Twisters.

From there, we headed further east, into Dewey.
We took photos at all the different sites in the city. The fire station even opened its doors to us, gave the kids some cups, and let them see the various “Dewey” fire equipment.

Heading farther east, we came across various Route 66 sites and perused them as we went along.
Even came across this little area that said it had “the only remaining 9′ section of original pavement on the old Route 66 system, taken out of service in 1937.” A National Register of Historic Places Site.”

After that, we made our way to Missouri, then stopped for the night in Arkansas.
