Exploring the Heart Of It All
The Heart Of It All!
That is what Ohio is commonly called. Why is that? I looked it up, and mainly because it’s within a day’s trip to over half of the US population. It is a great place to start traveling from. You can reach many places and states within just a few hours.
Anyway! We visited another covered bridge—this time with an incident.
My mom was getting out of the car. She took a step down the incline that her and my dad parked next to when… well, she took a tumble.
Her knee is all bruised up and a little bloody. She said her shoulder is killing her as well.
Ugh. Well, despite that she smiled for the photos throughout the day.

After we finished bandaging her knee, we took a trip to the Ohio State Capitol. It’s a pretty nice Capitol building. Not the most luxurious… but still good. I’d say the most luxurious I’ve seen is probably Washington State; however, this still felt very nice.

Then we became the Children of the Corn(field).
Nah, not quite. But it does have a cool name.
Curious?
Cornhenge.
No, I’m not kidding.

We took some touristy photos, because that’s what you have to do! Plus, we take these kinds of photos even where we live.
The nice part is having everyone included in the photos. It’s excellent for lasting memories.
Next stop? A 9/11 memorial.

We had the kids look up some names from 9/11. Names from documentaries we had them watch. They found them on the walls with all the names of people who died in the attack. Then we learned all about the memorial pieces. They had steel beams from the tower, as well as some rail from the subway that ran under the towers. It was a memorial worth visiting.

We ended the day by going to Bob Evans. Why?
Kids eat free.
Unfortunately, when we received our bill, the kids meals were still listed. I had to go up and get that corrected. They also didn’t deduct a coupon that we had. Outside of that? The food was pretty mediocre.
The highlight of Bob Evans was that their cold and specialty coffee and teas get free refills.
After this long day, we were ready for bed.
