Nailed it

Hey – Happy July.

We are already more than halfway through the year. Which is pretty amazing…

Luca was terrorizing Ezra earlier this week. He ran into his room and slammed the door behind him to keep Ezra out. He had other plans and put his fingers as quickly as he could into the door. What followed was not pretty.

Ezra was SCREAMING and was in a lot of pain. When Luca slammed the door, he did so on his fingernail and ripped it clean off. It was still hanging on by some skin, but the nail was off. Bleh.

It took a while for the blood to stop, and then he let me bandage it, and as long as I held his hand, he wouldn’t remove the bandages.

Each time I had to inspect or replace the bandage, he would get very calm and still and study what I was doing intently.

Poor kid will need to keep that on for at least another week before his nail bed is healed enough, according to doctor Google. Just in time for the 4th of July…
