2024 – September part 2

hey again!

It seems to be a season of change this month.

Not only because of the weather and moving into fall. No, it could never be quite that simple.

At work they announced that they were having to make some cuts due to funding. Due to this, 3 people were laid off (direct employees) and 3 contractors were told to pause all work. I know, this may not seem like much, but the company is very small (previously we had 8 folks total which has not been brought down to 5). Not sure of the long term impact that this will have on me as of yet. Right now I’m told we should be fine. However, the team that I had worked with is not working which means my project work is currently at a standstill.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:34

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:5-6

I’m leaning into these currently and honestly, I don’t feel the same kind of worry I did over the last 5 years when I was with P3. Good or bad, I know things will work out.

We decided to go to some pumpkin patches over the weekend. One was Papa’s Pumpkin Patch. Its an annual trip we have been making for a few years now. We also stopped by a small church in the area that was inviting everyone to come check out their setup.

What else? RAIN!

We were out and about (getting our Covid vaccine) when we got out of the car and it just started DUMPING rain on us. On the short walk into the store we all got pretty soaked. It reminded me of a monsoon storm in Arizona.

It was nice. Everyone enjoyed it.

We are crazy like that. 🙂

To round out the month, we got a bike for Arabella. It isn’t perfect but it will require a bit of fixing on her part (new tubes needed as well as a new seat.

I think it will also help her appreciate it and take care of it a bit more than some of her other items.

At church they decided to get political threw as many messages saying “you should vote for Trump” stopping short of actually saying to vote for “Trump”. It gave me an icky feeling.

I had to add the photo of the firetruck that Arabella took. She got so excited and wanted to take a picture because it had a unicorn on it (and that unicorn had pink). This was taken while we were getting a coffee on national coffee day.

And lastly, another photo of us at church. We have been trying to get more involved, and this was a photo during the Worship and Prayer night. It had great intentions. It was awkward and I wish I didn’t leave feeling like a less than (for multiple reasons) – however we will continue press on.

On to October!

just Pray.
