2023 – June part 1

Hey,

We started off this month by trying to head out to some new waterfalls. We like the hikes and especially when the destination is a fall. We took the kids out to this one shown below. It wasn’t much of a hike, and all of it was on a paved trail. Ah well, we tried.

That first weekend was also the weekend of the Starlight Parade – something we have done with the kids as often as we could. It’s a fun time when they put on a parade and a time to enjoy the nice outside temps on a nice cool summer evening. The kids were thrilled to see a Delorean (they had just recently seen the Back to the Future movies). Luca was also especially taken in back the “par pane” aka airplane.

It was a fun time, then at the end of the night Arabella made friends with a girl and they even exchanged numbers to maybe someday play again.

As of June 2nd, I am on the bench at work. What does that mean? Well, my gig with Microsoft has ended (they have a strict policy where you can only work for them on projects for 18 months at a time, then you are required to take a 6-month break), and even though they wanted to keep me the rules could not be bent. Now Pcubed is checking to see what projects they can get me into. On the plus side, everywhere I have worked they always want to keep me longer. That’s a good sign, right?!

The next weekend was fathers day. Decided to take a trip to go visit Gramps and Ellie at their place. The kids enjoyed walking around the place and attempting to play with the goats.

What else? That following week we took a trip to get some free basketballs courtesy of the Trai Blazers. The kids do a reading program and part of the Blazers’ reading program is prizes. We saved up the tickets enough to get 3 new basketballs for each of the kiddos. What was next? You guessed it. Going to a basketball court so the kids could play with the new items! I leave you with a photo of Arabella lacing up her new shoes, eager to play.

just Pray
