2022 – October part 2
Hey!
So we ended up having to do our stairs. We re-made them. Yeah.. it wasn’t something that we were planning on doing right away. We only ended up doing all of them at once after seeing how rotted the old wood was. We went and got all new boards at Home Depot and added a water sealant and stain on them. We took maybe 6 different trips to the Depot but eventually got it done. My parents came up to get the new iPhone that we had ordered and Maryia and my dad added the boards and finished things up.
So what do you do when you have a car but need to get something home that is too big?! Well, it’s a good thing we have a moonroof! We got a carpet and it ended up being too tall for us to fit with the car seats. This is how it looked after we arranged it through the moonroof. A few people were looking. I kinda felt like the back-to-the-future car (but no I didn’t go 88mph to test things out).
A cool thing happened on Twitter. The radio play-by-play announcer for the Trail Blazers (Travis Demers) was giving away the season opener against the Suns. I asked if I could win them (along with many other people). I never thought I’d win though. He had his kid pick a winner (see the video below).
And if you didn’t guess yet, I won the tickets. The wife and I had a rare date night. It was weird not having the kids around, but we were able to focus on the game. They even went into overtime for a game one thriller. This was the view from our seat for the game-winner from a little video I took. It was a fun night.
Yeah, so the Blazers won with that shot and upset the Suns (who were a contender last year, while the Blazers were a lottery pick).
Pregame we saw Blaze running around and flagged him for a quick photo. We also were given (along with everyone else in the arena) these nice shirts from the first game.
Ironically, I had just been talking to Maryia about how I didn’t think we would be going to ANY Blazer games this year as finances have continued to get tighter (think inflation and everything else going on).
I’m glad to say that I was wrong.
