2022 – September part 2
Fall is in the air!
The first thing we wanted to do was head to Oregon Heritage Farms. They always have these yummy apple cider donuts and an apple cider shake that pairs very nicely. We went to get some Macintosh apples for my momma’s apple pie. They are the best tasting. We arrived and asked where they were and they told us that they had already sold out. In the spring – they had a windstorm that knocked down a majority of the apples and so they had only a fraction of what they normally would. When they finally sold them people were buying them in 10lb intervals. So much that they had to ration the people from buying too many. Ugh.
September also means National Musem Day (this year it was on September 17th). We took a trip over to Tillamook to check out the airplanes they had. The plane that the kids took a photo in front of also was one of the planes that happened to be featured in Top Gun. The hanger itself is impressive and a throwback to earlier days. A lot of history of this place – I posted a lot about it on Instagram, so if interested you can see and read about it there.

Many months ago we had decided that it was time to get our windows replaced. Why? Well, we had moisture within the dual pane windows. Plus the insides of the windows would mold up in the wet months. Outside of the house, you could occasionally see the water drain from the window itself. They were not in the greatest shape and were the original windows installed in the house. Below are a few photos of that process. I took the 1st day off (because they were doing the room that I worked in) but not the second day. They would have completed the job however the front window of the house needed to be re-ordered and won’t be available until sometime in November.

There also is a photo of a boy up there in a Cardinals jersey. The kids like to dress up Luca occasionally, and on that morning they put a hat and a cape on him. He came out beaming and was very proud of what he looked like (no pants and all).
COVID! Elijah finally was at the right time and age to get his second COVID-19 shot. He had been clamoring for it ever since his big sister had her shots last year.
We began watching “House of the Dragon” on HBO and it seems to be just as good as the original. I like what they are doing with it. Anyway, if you don’t remember.. last time they had wine/beer for Game of Thrones we got it. Since this is a new show we decided to keep with the pattern and nabbed a bottle of this wine.

We have been through a few churches in a few months. I don’t want this trend to continue. We decided to try out another church called Rise City Church. First impressions are good, but we are waiting to see in the subsequent weeks how things are going to play out. I’m not sure if I’m hopeful or pessimistic at this point.
Finally, that evening we were on our way home and saw that gas prices had risen. To what? $5.49. What?! How is it that expensive again?! Not only is it that expensive but it shows no sign of slowing down.
