2022 – August part 2

After Amber and Josh left, we spent the week going to different eyewear places trying to find the next pair of glasses that we could get with our insurance. Below is a photo of Luca who wanted to put his head by me EACH time he was sitting on my shoulders.

Once my parents were around we went to Vista house (the first time it was open in a few years thanks to COVID). We also enrolled the kids in another vacation bible school. This one lasted a full week (Monday to Friday) during the evening hours – the one at ALC only lasted 3 days and was a shorter period as well. Anyway, the kids love going. Here is a photo of one of the days we went to pick them up.

Since this was also the week that Grammy and Grampy were visiting we were able to have 5 days of going out and eating with my parents with only Willie and Luca to watch after. I don’t think we have ever had such quiet dinners. (All of the talk was as the kids would say “boring adult talk”). We had fun – here is a photo that I took of my dad, who was taking a photo of me.

Once their vacation bible school was over, we took part of that weekend to go to the coast. Got the best Fish and Chips over at Bowpicker and went to the beach too.

On Sunday of that weekend, we went to wake up the kids and found them like so (see the photo below). Snuggling next to each other with books everywhere. We ended up going to a presentation that was hosted by the church where VBS was held. It was a cute show with songs and some dancing that they learned over the week that they spent together.

Once that finished, we took a trip over to Skyline restaurant to see if it was any good. Long story short- it wasn’t great. I don’t think I’ll be back unless there are some major changes. It has super reviews on Yelp and other places which is why I was so surprised that it wasn’t very nice and the food wasn’t very good.

This summer has just been speeding by. We blinked and my parents had already left and it was already the next weekend. Before the birthday party at Cassies (an old mutual friend that Maryia and I had from Cascade), we met up with Gramps, Ellie, Angel, Louis, and their kids too. The kids had fun playing with each other. As we normally do, we had everyone get together for a quick photo.

Afterward, it was off to Cassies – here is a photo that I took of Luca while at the party.

When we got home Arabella took Einstein outside. She isn’t supposed to but she decided to walk along the high bricks and balance herself and the dog in our backyard (she ended up falling off). Scraped up her leg pretty badly. An unfortunate way to end what was otherwise a pretty good day.
