2021 – January part 3

I do not mind limiting gatherings- not at all actually.

In light of the recent events on January 6th, the government was asking for people to NOT come to DC for the inauguration. Crazy times we are living in.

We got a custom blanket as a gift with “Luca Isaiah” sewen it from Emily and Nam and another similar one with his name and date of birth from our friend Derek. SUPER sweet. We like taking little family selfies, everyone is pretty high on the baby.

It was time for us to get out of the house for a little. We decided to go find a covered bridge, and take Luca to his FIRST lighthouse – Cape Mears Lighthouse.

We were fortunate enough to catch it on a clear winter day with a beautiful sunset.

My brother called while we were on the way home from an errand. He was so excited.

“Hey bro, how’s it going?!”
Not bad, how are you?
“Good, hey buddy I have to tell you, I feel like I want to cry. Dude, I’m so freaking excited. you won’t believe it, mom and dad just called me with some news.”
Oh yeah?
“Yeah, they told me that they want me to be the guardian for Willie if something happens to them. I told them I would, I totally love Willie and I would love to do that”
Nice, good for you!
“Yeah, they mentioned that you probably wouldn’t want to and they prayed and felt that I would be the best person, I just wanted you to know”
Oh, okay. Yeah, that wouldn’t be a good thing for me to do – so it’s good that they gave that to you. I’m just getting things situated at being at the hospital.
“Oh really, well that’s good”
Yeah, we were at the hospital because had another kid.
“What?? So you have another kid?! Dude, that’s great, you have two kids now!”
Uhh… no Michael. I have 3 kids now.
“What? NO, no way. You only had Arabella before, right?”
Michael, you met Elijah… on my birthday 2 years ago. Don’t you remember?
“Uhh no, dude you don’t have 3 kids, I would know that”
Well, I can tell you I am not kidding, I have 3 kids.
“That’s crazy. Cool. Well anyway, I just wanted to tell you about what mom and dad told me about Willie. I’m so glad that he gets to come and live with me. I am super pumped. Sorry that you don’t like him, but that’s your loss”
Oh, well thanks for letting me know. I’m seriously glad they picked you, I wouldn’t want that responsibility.
“I don’t know why you gotta be that way, he is your brother too… I’m serious I love that guy.”
I get it, and it’s really good for you.
“Okay, well love you, bro, talk to you later… bye”

Yeah, about that. I did tell everyone that there was some beef between my parents and our family. Not sure when it will get worked out, but right now it seems that both sides are digging in. I can say I really am glad that they found someone who will want to take care of Willie… even if it is Michael.

As we closed the month it was pretty cold outside, we even got a dusting of snow. The photos of the baby though have not slowed down one bit. In Arabella and Elijah’s words “He is SO ADORABLE”
