2020 – March

March!

This month also means that winter is starting to come to a close and spring is starting!

The first few days of the month were the last few that my parents visited. It always feels so quiet after they leave (even with the kids making so much noise).

Sears Outlet! Sears stores are quickly becoming a thing of the past. Considering I spent a few years working for this company (before it was run into the ground) I wanted to take the kids and visit before it was gone.

We also replaced our range hood with a Microwave (which is a much better use of the space than what was previously here). All of the appliances are stainless steel – I think it looks good! Bringing this house slowly into the modern era!

COVID STRIKES.

Everything is shutting down. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life. Disneyland was shut down, Six Flags was closed at least through the end of the month. Trump announced he was suspending all travel from Europe to the US for the next month and even from the UK.

What a crazy time to be alive!

They announced that handwashing was going to be a big deterrent to the spread. That same day my bible app had a verse that could not have been better planned.

We also got a mid-march snowstorm (as you can see the pink on the trees was beginning to sprout. It made for a pretty sight and momentarily took my mind off of the news.

What news? COVID. Know the Symptoms! Besides the spread which is ramping up in every part of our country… the stocks took a nose dive. Trump said he is not doing to do a lockdown nationwide, however, there are businesses left and right that are starting to close or having people work remotely. Another day and it seems each day is bringing worse news for COVID.

Did I mention it’s spring?! The Japanese Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom across the state. We took a few trips to see them both to Downtown Portland and also to the state Capitol in Salem. Winter, fall, and spring are really my jam.

See the photo of Elijah? There is a show “Dinotrux” on Netflix that he watches. There is a character “Dozer” and he loves the show and that particular character. He got a little carried away with it and dragged his head on the carpet for an extended period of time, causing some damage.

We continue to keep ourselves busy with work on the house. This time we removed most of the bushes and brush in the front of the house (see above). It is really starting to look nicer. Our goal is to have a grassy front area.

Around the middle of the month, the administrator for BPA (pictured above) announced that we would be entering a period of working from home until things were safer, or until we knew more. Everyone was busy buying up all of the work-from-home gear and I too went out and got a desk, and chair that will be used for the next couple of weeks until this thing is over. I went to all the online stores as soon as I could and found that Office Depot had a chair on sale. I quickly snatched it up. Nearly all desks were sold out too, so I ended up getting what I could – and this one is from the Home Depot. Pcubed ended up sending me a laptop and an external monitor too.

Everything is locked down.

just Pray
