2019 – May

May day, mayday…

It seems kind of fitting. We were leaving the place we wanted to be.

You can see the photos of our trip below. Spent a night at a hotel on the way down to Los Angeles again. It seems like we had just done this- doesn’t it!? Ugh.

We dropped off the truck in Los Angeles and made a quick weekend trip to Phoenix (just because we wanted to visit and see how we felt about being back). We all kind of felt sick to our stomachs and longed for greenery and the PNW. Okay, at this point it really seems like the desert southwest chapter of our lives was being closed.

Back to LA and finding ways to keep ourselves busy (outside of applying for jobs). The kids had easter egg fun that we hadn’t used in Portland and Elijah loved riding on his tractor (someone was giving it away when we were in Portland some months prior and it was one of his favorites). The kids were rocking Blazer’s gear as they kept advancing in the playoffs. They eventually got to the Western Conference Finals (before they lost – the last step before the Finals/championship game). One of the ways we kept busy was by looking to do things we didn’t do when we lived in LA previously. This included looking at the history in Newhall for the Western Walk of stars.

This brought us right to Elijah’s birthday! My little baby boy, already turning 2!

We had a day all set up for him at the house. He was all about the Blazers this year and it fit to give him a Blazer’s/Train-themed birthday. The first day would be at the house with the cake and opening presents. The next day was the train park near Griffith park. This kid has always been a fan of locomotives. Look at that hair, it is getting so long! Well about that.. he asked for a haircut shortly after his birthday. He wanted something ‘fun’ and liked the new do. I think he’s adorable.

We went to the drive-in to see Avengers Endgame (since we had those free replacement tickets from some years back when the power went out).

We looked up the art district in Los Angeles and it did not fail to impress. I think each city should have areas like this. I especially liked the area the kids posed by (the Daddy Loves you picture seen above).

Outside of the art walks, we went to different movie filming locations. It’s a Wonderful Life (to Bailey Park), to ET (seen above).

Then the phone rang. I was wanted for an interview for a job in Portland. I needed to go to Portland to interview with Nike – so I set out (to Kohls) to find some clothes that I could wear for the interview. Let’s hope this one turns out better than the last. This one was fully out of pocket too, so I couldn’t afford to do this much without getting an offer at some point. That much is still to be seen.

just Pray
