A new year!
Here is a photo of one thing we like to do – burning a fire. We generally get a duraflame or similar burning log that lasts 3 or 4 hours. It helps warm up the room and has a nice little ambiance too.
On my birthday I was at work and caught this sunset. Pretty huh? Orange, pink, and purple.
For news from my parents, they are moving into the new house they purchased in December. Here is one of the moving trucks with all the boxes taking stuff out of their rental.
Lastly, this is what it looks like when I go to work. My daughter and my cat are sitting at the door watching me go – pretty cute.
What else has been going on? Well, we were in Wal-Mart the other day and we took this photo of Arabella who was looking cute as a button. Our house hunting has not slowed down and actually here is a photo of a home we are looking into. This home has a lot going for it and the only thing against it is that it is all the way in Anthem. That is a far cry from where we would ideally want to be located. We have checked out a few other homes as well that would need some fixing (either carpets or tile/etc) and so to get a good understanding of the cost that would incur we went to a flooring store and talked with some people about the costs of us doing it, or someone else doing it, the type of materials you would need to use, etc.
The photo of the bike is something we took for my dad. He has been talking about wanting a fat tire bike to ride and well anyway we were at K-Mart and were surprised to see that this sucker costs 249.99 (on sale).
Fun story! So because we have been house hunting we haven’t exactly been wanting to renew our lease for another 12 months. We told our landlord (Ed) that we would be opting for the month-to-month. He let us know that we would need to be out at the end of the month. We called him and asked him why. He explained that he thought we were going to be moving somewhere else soon and so he decided to let his daughter use it instead. He said it was too late to change it now because it was promised but if he had known that we were staying for a while still that he would have preferred to have us rent with him.
Well, that puts us in a little bit of a situation. We don’t have anywhere else that we can live. Since we had been given our notice that we needed to be out by the end of the month we purchased a PO Box for our mail (see Arabella getting into it). The plan is that if we can’t find anything we will need to put everything into storage. Nothing has really been coming up – everything costs nearly double what we have been paying (730/monthly).
The end of the month is here and we still don’t have any place to live. We got a U-Haul and started making trips. I guess one part of the good news is that gas is so cheap (and that is good considering we may have to live out of our car?!).
