Post-Wedding
It is finished!
We are married. It is still new to me… To think that I am married. I am a married man. Crazy. I know that I have had a lot of time beforehand to let it sink in but not as much time afterward.
So about the wedding… Yeah.
The day itself was nothing more than mass chaos. Seriously. It was definitely one of the most stressful days in my life- if not The Most. My parents left early from the house but the gas pump went out on their way down to San Diego. They had to rent a car and get help from Highway Patrol. I was waiting to get ready in their hotel room and couldn’t do that until they arrived.
For a wedding that started at 5:30, I didn’t even get into my parent’s hotel room until after 4:30 thanks to all of the delays. I’m just glad they made it. Otherwise, we would have just canceled the whole thing. Maryia had problems throughout the day with her makeup and other things and then even finding the venue itself. We were late by 15 minutes and Maryia and her family were another 10 minutes behind us.
Crazy. But we pulled it off. The wedding lady/officiant didn’t have the right vows, music or poems that we requested and once even said that we were here to unite Maryia and Sky. I don’t think anyone noticed though. We had purchased a camera and a camcorder for the event but in the midst of everything we forgot them in the car. I know, I know. Crazy.
The wedding was super small but looking back we both agree that those that were at the wedding, they the ones who should have been at the event. It pained and hurt me a lot that Michael in particular didn’t come, but hey. After everyone had arrived things went a lot smoother.
Here is a few pictures:
We had a small reception at CiCi’s pizza. Maryia and I were so sick from the stresses of the day we didn’t eat anything much other than a small bite of the wedding cake (everyone told us we HAD to eat at the very least, a bite).
The Wedding Cake
After the day ended we went to our hotel in Stanton/Anaheim area. We got a city pass for LA and it included Disneyland passes for 3 days, Universal Studios for 2 days, and 1 time to Sea World. Fun indeed.
We brought some cake with us to eat the next day, but unknown to us we discovered the fridge was bad and the cake we brought was ruined.
We had a lot of problems with the hotel, but we had a blast at Universal and during our 3 days at Disneyland.
Tomorrow we finish up the honeymoon at Sea world and then on to our 2nd and final trip to Universal Studios.
🙂
