Hey
Christmas time is here… and it passed.
Brandy came over again this year for Christmas. We had a home cooked meal (on Thanksgiving we had KFC). It wasn’t all about the presents for our family. This is the second year that we haven’t exchanged presents (next year we should be doing it – as everyone should be in a better financial footing) – and I’ll be totally out of debt 🙂 On top of everything.. Christmas just isn’t the same when you can wear shorts and a tee.
I took the whole weekend off. Wednesday the 24th to Sunday the 28th.. and on Saturday we decided to go to San Diego (as a last minute .. spur of the moment trip). We attempted to make something out of the week in which we had a few days off.
We hadn’t been to San Diego since I was in 11th grade.. (year 2000) – 8 years. I must say that not much changed in SD over that time.. at least not much that was very noticeable. We enjoyed our stay. We took my car (because it doesn’t matter how many miles we pile on it) and drove. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in downtown – which would appear to be a great location; however it had a train which ran very close to it. Right through the center of the city commuter trains were coming through ever couple hours. It didn’t help our night of sleep – but before bed we went walking downtown.
We came across this building. Which was a skyscraper – but it wouldn’t have turned out very well… so I took a picture of the lower half.
We also went over to Coronado and walked along the beach. This is a rather far off picture of Hotel Del Coronado (we were walking along – this picture enlarged is kind of cool looking).
I will sum the next bit up rather quickly. We woke up the next morning to find that one of the beds had blood on it- but not our blood. We told the hotel and they ended up comping our room. Then we went to the Golden Acorn casino to play some 20 dollars my mom wanted to play. My dad was playing this Twilight Zone machine and won 50 bucks. Our total winnings were like 55 dollars. So overall – our spur of the moment trip was pretty cheap.
Blazers last week were .500 – we Lost at Denver – won at home vs Denver… then Lost on Christmas day to Dallas (the first time in quite some time that has happened). We attempted to watch the Toronto game at the hotel but the internet was bad- so we couldn’t. We beat Toronto.
Tonight we play Boston – likely without BRoy – this would be a statement if we win 🙂
Tomorrow is my last day to work this year– until January 6th next year.
I have been talking to Aleesha a lot. We are talking.. often 🙂 It has already been one month as of the 28th/29th. Learning about each other a lot. She is 19, and has never in a relationship before. It was very random we started to talk. She lives in California.. so that is how it goes….
I haven’t been to church in a few months – yet I don’t miss it.. one bit.
