Oscar died today.
Today we brought Oscar to the vet.
We had to put him down, he had a hard time getting around – and overall had a poor quality of life that was left.
On a scale of 1 to 10, (10 being the best) the vet said loosely that he was a 1, but that he had a Strong heart.
The hardest part was around 12:00 when the Doc brought him in to us, all drugged up before the final shot.
He was wrapped in a cloth like a baby, quickly falling asleep-
It was the first time his frail little body wasn’t shaking in months.
It was so sad that I cried. The waterworks could not be stopped.
12:20 pm he was shot with the final injection, my parents and I walked in and stood by him in his last moments.
Then his nose turned from wet to warm and from warm to cold.
Now we have Mayer.
Oscar Dewey, we had him for just about 11 years.
January 1995 to December 2005, he was born in 1992.
