Hey everyone
Had an interesting day today… and it went a little something like this.
Went to school, got further ahead in english. 1 essay left on assignments due and im finished with the class. Math? Went to it. heh.. So I came home. Later on I went to work.
Around 4:15 my manager brings me in an office.. sits me down.
Yesterday I ordered a spool.. *for a weedwacker* worth like 4 dollars for a customer, for Larry, who couldn’t because he isn’t on the same system that I am.
The item was out of warenty. So the customer ended up calling back today and asking for more parts to be ordered inwarenty. Regularly we don’t order parts.. infact we shouldn’t order parts for out of warenty customers, unless its to save a customer. This one was. Larry told me about how the guy had ordered the spool and the parts department had gotten the order wrong twice before, not only that but that he was sent everywhere but the correct place, and yeah. He thought it only right to order the spool for him. He asked to speak to a supervisior, the supervisior came on and looked in the history of who ordered the parts. Not who spoke to the customer, but who ordered the parts.
Guess who he found? It wasn’t Larry.
So here I was sitting across the table from my manager, I really couldn’t get much of what he was saying because it was all blocked out by what he said at the very end. “and it could end up in termination from your job” The part shouldn’t have been ordered, and yep.. now I was freaked. So they told me not to talk to Larry until they had a chance to talk to him. I agreed. When they asked me I told them I ordered the part for Larry. *hence how they knew to go talk to Larry*
Later on I was at lunch *4:30* and my manager walked out of the office. I stopped him, pretty much asked him the status of everything and told him I didn’t want to loose my job over this. He said that I might be written up.. but most likely wont be fired.
Later on that evening, they spoke to Larry. He asked them how they were going to fuss over it when he has the authorization to order hundreds of dollars of parts out for customers, but they were just sticking to the letter of the law of the business. Afterwards, he told me they had discussed it, and there was a bit of mis-understanding… in the term that they were just making sure nobody does this, or does it more than once.
My manager stopped me while I was on my way to my last break… He apologized for getting me nervous about my job and everything. He didn’t mean for it to come across that way, and he knew from the very start when he saw my name “wow, not jason” but yep.. it was indeed me. And so he told me about how Larry told them it was all his fault, and that he had me order the part, and how he pretty much refused to let them put any of the blame on me.
Heh.
So… thats been the excitement of my day. All of this will be resolved tomorrow, they’re going to speak with Larry and I, probably just to tell us to not do this again. A verbal warning, nothing big. Still.. something I wish hadn’t happened. But what can you do? Ah well. At least I still have a job right?
So I didn’t end up eating dinner *at work* because I felt so sick.. so incredibly sick – like I was going to lose my job or something, and blah. Thats exactly how I felt.
Anyway.. thats it for me… for now.
Hope everyone had a great day.
God Bless
Pray Hard.
Ciao!
