Oklahoma

Our trip was nearing the end and it seemed to fly by.   Yay for making it to our next state!
Our quick visit to Tinker AF Museum
Headed to Shawnee to connect to my heritage a bit! There is always something emotional about being able to connect with our ancestors.
It was very cool to share it with Arabella since it is her herritage too!
Next we headed to the OKC bombing site.
It was an eye opening experience
We learned a lot of tragic history on our trip
Like the connection of the OKC bombing and Waco
Jesus Wept.
The memorial was very serene.
We also had to visit the Capitol! And of course we had to visit OCU! And a few historical sites… Next we hit a storm <3 After the storm we headed back to Texas! TBC…

Dallas day 2

We spent the day in Dallas and then drove to Oklahoma!

Breakfast at Cracker Barrel
Apple Oatmeal & Blueberry bran muffin

Coffee before we head out

no Photos allowed inside
And then we made it to Oklahoma….

Waco & Dallas

  1. After we left Arkansas we headed right back for Texas! This time we stopped in Waco! We started of the morning with a trip to the laundry map. And then proceeded to visiting our chosen landmarks!

Our first stop was Magnolia Market

Then we took a quick look at the Dr. Peper Museum
Dr. Pepper is kinda a big deal in Texas!

The trip started to get more and more rooted in history. The more time we spent traveling, the more we craved learning about the past. It was a time of soul searching and introspection as we all looked at past events and wondered what it meant for our lives today.

Down this dirt road was where the 1993 Branch Davidian Masacre took place

We wondered if it was okay for us to look at the memorial since it is on private land and still owned by the Davidians. Thanks to google we learned that as long as the gate is opened you can visit he memorial but you can’t go past the church. We entered with caution.

Reading each name was sad… some of the children were so tiny
There was even a small Memorial for those who died in the Oklahoma City bombing (because of thr connection).
This new church stands in the spot where the actual massacre took place (it was heartbreaking to be standing in such a spot).

We of course left the site with a lot of questions and started googling away to find some answers. You know you’ve made a good choice to visit a place when it gives you the urge to think and learn and ask a lot of questions. The more we traveled on this trip… The more places like these we found.

We made it to Dallas (My favorite Texas citg so far)
Visited the exact Spot JFK was assasinated
And we visited the JFK memorial
Arabella said the bull “needed to calm down”
