places I love

A few extra cities!

we made some new friends
Arabella loved petting the “aly-gators”

When we first entered into Louisiana we saw a bilboard about being able to pet baby gators. We walked into the small area and they walked up to us and literally just handed us some baby gators. Arabella was torn between prettying the cat and the alligator. I think she thought we were at a tiny petting Zoo. It was probably one of the most fun experiences on our trip.

She wanted to ride the lion

Arabella going a little crazy by Bourbon Street
A nice officer let Arabella sit on his horsey friend
dancing in Jackson Square to live music

After checking out New Orleans we headed to Mississippi!

We took a tour of the Capitol!

We had breakfast at a new place!

Houston

The next morning we drove to Houston. Our first stop was Lakewood Church!

We even met Joel! The security was pretty awesome… Arabella was not considered a security threat when she tried to cross the barriers! Joel was really nice and took the time to talk to each of us.

Next we headed out to see some sites!

We stayed in Galveston fir the night

San Antonio

Friday the 6th we left Phoenix and headed to San Antonio! We drove down through Tuscan and into New Mexico. We stopped for gas and at the state sigh.

Arizona/New Mexico State Line

Before We knew it we made it to Texas! We were stopped at their little border patrol…

They made us all get out and told us that their dog sniffed out drugs in our car. They detained us for a bit, went through our car, let their dog jump in our rental car (which was against our rental agreement), found zero drugs (because there were none), and then they let us go. They were complete jerks the entire time. It was nice of them to make me wake up my two year old and get her out for absolutely nothing!

New Mexico/Texas State Line

Not much later the sun rose and we had made it to our first destination!

San Antonio, TX

San Antonio was a lot smaller than we had expected. We ran on zero hours of sleep. We saw as many sites as we could!!!

Breakfast at The Madhatter Cafe

The Weather Wasn’t too bad
Had Fun Visiting The Mission

After we visited the mission we set out to see several other sites in San Antonio…

The Alamo
For Dinner we had some of the best burgers!

After dinner we drove around and found some Fireflies! They were AMAZING… And worth every mosquito bite! It only took me 30 years to see my first one!
