Let’s C Cincinnati
Day 7: Cincinnati — Signs, Fire Hydrants, and One Last Adventure
We finally made it to Cincinnati! Our morning was spent checking out a few neighborhoods, though we quickly realized that Cleveland still felt like the best fit for our family. So, we decided to take a break from house hunting and just enjoy the city.
Our first stop was the Sign Museum, and it did not disappoint. The kids were fascinated, though Ezra had a few meltdowns and ended up planking dramatically on the floor multiple times. The lights and colors were incredible… way bigger and brighter than the neon museum we visited in Vegas! We snapped tons of photos. Ezra became obsessed with a random fire hydrant, Luca spent the whole time chasing after Grampy, Elijah ran about like normal, and Arabella… well, she disappeared on her own little adventure. I guess she’s officially too cool for us now!
Before leaving Cincinnati proper, we made a quick stop to honor another 9/11 memorial, taking a few quiet moments to reflect. Then it was time to head to our last hotel but first dinner at our namesake pizza place… located in Kentucky near the airport.

After dropping the kids off, Jay and I drove to the airport to return the rental car and the loaner car seats (ours were still missing, who knows where they are? We may never see them again). Everything took longer than expected, and we ended up waiting for the shuttle an hour and a half to get back to the hotel. Ugh. Annoying, yes but it will make things easier in the morning for our flight home.
Tomorrow, it’s back to Portland! Hard to believe this adventure is wrapping up, but what an incredible week of cities, museums, fields of corn, and family memories. Ohio, you were full of surprises, and we’re leaving with stories we’ll be talking about for years.
