Oh Hi, Ohio!

Leaving for Ohio:
Left home at 8am and got an uber to the max station. We all loaded onto the max. It took us about an hour and we got to the airport around 9. We accidentally grabbed the wrong passport for J (expired) but he was still able to get through security to board the plane. Grabbed some breakfast for the kids and then made it to our gate about 20 min before boarding. Our plane ended up being delayed by an hour. We gate checked our car seats and then made it onto the plane!

Arriving in CVG! We arrived in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport about an hour later than we had planned. And it turns out our Car Seats did not. Back and fourth from the gate to baggage claim to oversized baggage claim and then to the help desk multiple times across the airport… our seats never made it. The airline gave us loaners for the trip. They guy said he had never had this happen before… I told him I hadn’t either. ha! We spent an addition hour and a half at the airport after we arrived trying to find the car seats were now two and a half hours behind schedule. Arabella saw that we were passing through Kentucky and asked if we could have KFC… so we did. Thank heavens it was open late. We crossed over the border into Indiana on our way to our hotel so the kids could say they had been to Indiana. Then we proceeded to our hotel in Oregon, Ohio.

We pulled into our hotel late… very late. And went to check in. We were supposed to be there 3 hours earlier but because of the delays we weren’t able to. They told us they had cancelled our stays. We asked if they had refunded us and they said no because they closed it out as a no-show. We asked if they could refund it because we weren’t no-shows and after a lot of back in fourth they told us we could stay anyway.

We went to our room and crashed for the night. Hopefully tomorrow will go more smoothly!
