27 Weeks, almost a 3 year old, and Moving at the Speed of Life

Tomorrow I start my 27th week… which also marks the last week of my second trimester. You know what that means?!?!…. I’m almost 2/3 rds done with all of this nausea, gas, fighting to get off the couch, and attempting to pick something up off the floor. Yeah… and then again I remember I still have 1/3rd to go! HAHAHAHA! I’m only going to get bigger from here on out! I have to laugh at myself a little because I only think I’m big now… and most of the growing has barely started. Seriously I feel gigantic so envisioning what the 3rd trimester is going to look like has me… concerned um baffled not very excited. Except for the idea that in less than 71 days I will be at term! AND in less than 90 days I will have a baby boy!!!! Whoa… crazy when you think about it like that!
Less than 90 days!
Speaking of crazy countdowns… My sweet girl will be 3 years old in just 5 days!!!! WOW!!!! Where in the world did the last 3 years go!?!?! Um hello time where did you go? We’ve got a big weekend planned for her! Not as big as the last couple of years but still pretty big. Her first birthday we went to the Beach and Universal Studios. Her second birthday we stayed in Arizona but she went to the Deep Hits Tour and the Rock n Worship Roadshow!

This year we are keeping it a little simpler. Saturday we are traveling up to North Scottsdale because there is a free petting zoo and pony rides. I don’t know how Jason found this place so quickly but he did! I am excited because I called and confirmed that they do indeed have pigs at their petting zoo. Someone is going to squeal with joy! If we have time in the evening we might go see the Canal Convergence. I think for dinner the plan is something simple like McDonalds because she loves mcnuggets (yes I know I let my kid eat at that place… sue me). Sunday the plan is pretty open. We may do church sunday morning. Arabella mentioned wanting to go to a park… we have a few nearby so mabe we will hit up a couple. I’ll probably want to take some birthday photos of her at some point. We have dinner planned at Organ Stop Pizza. She requested some cheese pizza so it looks like a good place to start! Monday we are having breakfast at the OINK Cafe and maybe taking a tour of the Stuffington Bear Factory. I haven’t decided if we will do cake and ice cream on Sunday or Monday (her actual birthday). I’ve got all the supplies to make the pig themed stuff! I only feel mildly overwhelmed haha.
When looking at everything I have to admit that life is pretty good! I can do crazy toddler event planning, prepare for a new baby, meet moms in the area, and spend time with my AWESOME husband! Life gets crazy and the pregnancy hormones sometimes get the best of me.. but for the most part my life is flying by! The truth is the speed of life is quicker than light some days. You can’t see how quickly its passing by. The mundane parts of life are exactly the parts that make it special. Sure the big events like births are monumental but… what really makes life special are those moments at 3 am when you trip over a laundry basket trying to get to the bathroom when you have to pee. Or the times when your toddler just wants you to read her the same book 100 times. Or when your husband is telling you about his day at work. All the little moments really add up… they are the mosaic of life. Each little piece makes the whole picture beautiful. We just have to be smart enough to let the light in so that we can see all of the beauty.
