DIY Wedding: Bubbles
Wedding favors can cost a small fortune is you’re not careful! Our wedding is this August and I’ve got in to the Do it yourself mode. Sometimes it’s a little crazy as I run around and try to find things to save a couple of bucks but google has been a blessing to me!
If you have friends close by ask them if they would like to help out. With just a couple of friends you could have all of your bubbles done in under an hour.
This week I am making my own wedding bubbles. I am making them all for well under $10. Not only are bubbles fun for the children they are also a safe alternative to rice. Rice can cause a painful death for birds who might try to consume it.
You can make your own bubbles in under 5 steps!
STEP 1: Gathering Supplies
First, I went to the dollar store and got plain white wedding bubbles. It was $1.00 for every 9 bottles of bubbles
Next I went to Michael’s to get my color of ribbon and my stickers. (if the dollar store has your colors it’s an extra bonus!)
Last, you will need a hot glue gun. I already had one but you can pick them up at Walmart for around $5.
*I recommend dumping the dollar store bubbles out and either refilling them with other bubbles or making your own with a little soap
Step 2: Organizing the Supplies
Next lye out all of your supplies to make sure you don’t have to make extra trips.
Start heating up the hot glue gun and removing items from packaging.
Step 3: Place your stickers on the bottles
Step 3: Tie The Bows
Cut each piece of ribbon in 4-5 in increments. Then tie them in little bows. To save yourself some time purchase pre-made bows
Step 4: Glue the bows
Add a pea size dab of glue on the back of the bow. Careful it will be hot.
Try gluing the bows below the back side of lid of the bubbles cap. This will secure the bow in a place that will not interfere with the function of the cap.
Step 5: You’re done!
Place the bubbles back in the box and store away for your wedding date!
