It’s an un-exciting update
Well I don’t usually blog 2 days in a row but I thought… what the heck/ why not. I’m clearly going a little stir crazy and though I haven’t started pacing I think I have reorganized things about a million times. Jake is not a fan of it and now he avoids me and wishes to be hiding in our room all of the time. Less treats for him 😉
Today was laundry day. I washed all of the tiny little wash cloths and burp rags and blankets and neutral clothing. I used the hedgehog dryer balls for the first time… they seemed to work well for the most part. Everything still came out soft and it wasn’t static-y. But we’ll see how well they work as time goes on.
Yesterday was reorganize the nursery area and though it’s a lot more organized it still seems like it needs a little work. Not sure where to go from here. I know it’s just crazy nesting but still… I like things to have their own “home” if you will. I see all of the stuff for the tiny person and I think… how does a tiny person take up so much space. Blankets and the bassinet and the swing and the dresser and the stroller and the car seat (thankfully that’s in the car now)… seems a little crazy. I do remember my sister saying something similar though with her girls. I guess it makes sense when you have to start from scratch. Little people don’t appear to come with suitcases and moving boxes… the accumulation has to begin somewhere.
Not too much else is new. After talking to friends and reading a bazillion reviews I finally ordered my pump (Hygeia). The insurance company told me at first that I had to wait until after I gave birth but the website they directed me to said otherwise. Anyway I’m glad that’s checked off the list. It should be here in a week or two. Later than I’d like but at least I don’t have to wait to order it like I thought I would. And it was free so that was an added bonus. I like that women can get free breast pumps now… seems like everyone gets vouchers here and there for formula feeding. It’s nice to know that mamas who want to breast feed get some kind of perk now (no pun intended). I’m taking the small victories at this point..saving money is an exciting thing these days!
Well honestly I can’t say that I’m not a little nervous to meet the little one next week-ish. It’s kind of crazy how 40 weeks is flying by. But I am mostly excited. Jay and I finally came up with some possible name ideas last night. We’re going to surprise everyone with what we finally pick at the same time we reveal the gender. I hope you all like surprises because it sure seems like we will have a lot of them… okay at least a couple. I can’t imagine how exhausting those first weeks are going to be. I’ll probably just lounge around in who knows what. lol… might want to call before you visit… just in case I am not decent. Hmmm… what else. Oh yeah the Hospital bag is finally completed (I know I procrastinated way too long) but I finally received the last couple of things from Amazon today so that helped. It was boring stuff but it’s still fun to get packages 🙂 makes it feel kinda like Christmas.
