Well this past weekend was busy. We browsed through craigslist and found a bunch of deals. We got some things that we REALLY needed. It’s nice to get things done but it is also very exhausting. We’re still getting used to the new schedule so our weekends kind of ebb and flow. Sometimes it’s nice to be busy and sometimes not so much. This week it was just nice to get things done. We did get our car seat, which was a HUGE thing to have checked off but when we put it in the car it dominated (in a not so positive way). We’re thinking it may be a bit bigger than we wanted and may have to be in search of a different one. I’m kinda disappointed because I really wanted to have a car seat where we could to extended rear facing. We’re still trying to figure out the details so we’ll see. Back to the drawing board. I’ve never been much of a fan of the car seats that detach from the base but we’ll see what happens.
Most of the shopping we’ve done has been practical stuff like stroller, diaper paste, bibs, bottles, diaper bag, etc. But this week was exciting because we got a couple of outfits (a couple boy and a couple of girl). AND a couple of friends sent us some other necessities like diapers, wipes, burp cloths, books.. and a few really cute things like baby socks, a sleep sac, and a cute hooded towel. It was nice to know that we have good friends who are willing to celebrate with us from afar. It makes not having a shower and not being able to celebrate with people in person a little easier. Opening the gifts made me really miss being close to friends and family but it also made me feel a little closer to them at the same time. Thanks ladies for helping me celebrate, it meant a lot to me!
For Christmas I got the Magic Bullet and I’m excited that in a few months I can start making baby food. I keep making lists of things I plan on doing. I wonder how much of it I will actually do. I’ve gone into super planning mode. Been trying to clean and organize and re-decorate. What was once a dumbo nursery has now turned into a Disney themed nursery. Dumbo and Winnie the Poo and Peter Pan… and who knows what else. It’s not quite as “fun” as I thought it would be to plan and decorate but I think that’s because for some reason I think everything needs to be “perfect”. I just need to relax lol.
On that note we’ve had a couple of mishaps this past week. We are still asking that nothing is mentioned on facebook about our little one who we are expecting. We’d really like to keep our personal lives off of facebook for various reasons. If you’d like to see photos I’ll continue posting them in this blog but please don’t share on facebook. It’s really important to us to NOT have our personal stuff on there. We’ve dealt with a lot of unnecessary drama in the past because of facebook and we’re really trying to avoid it. We’d like for this time in our life to be as positive as possible. We want to share it with you but we don’t want to share with just anyone. You’ve been given this link because we want to make sure you are informed and be a part of our lives. You are important to us! But please don’t share on facebook!
Onto other news our house is officially decorated and looks like a home instead of just a random place we live. We brightened the place up with photos and other random memories. It’s nice that it finally feels like we live here and that it’s not just another lilypad. We know we’ll probably be here for a while but we don’t know how long.
Last.. our UPDATE on the whole doctor situation. I tried to switch earlier this week and the new doctors office said the earliest I could get in was 2-3 weeks out. I couldn’t wait another 2-3 weeks for an appointment so I had to make an appointment with my old office. I’m not excited about it but I’ve to see the doctor. It’s been over a month and I’ve already missed too many appointments. So here we go again. Hopefully it wont be as awful as I imagine in my head. Hopefully it will be a pleasant surprise 🙂
Speaking of pleasant surprises…

You look amazing! Glad things are falling into place- or at least fitting when you have to force them in. 😉 I’m still praying for you guys, for a healthy pregnancy and delivery, minimal drama, and lots of happy blessings. Love you!!
I completely understand about drama on FB, that is the last thing you need. 🙂 I am glad you guys are slowly getting things. I shall send something once he/she is born. 😀
Thanks so much for the update. I now have more gift ideas since I read about the nursery change. 🙂 You look great Sky! 🙂 Sooo adorable. Love you!
Thanks for including me in your updates 🙂 I love the countdown picture with the starry light projector…I hope that you made that and baby will get to enjoy those stars. You are coming up on the end of pregnancy…try to enjoy it as much as you can before it gone (I swear you’ll miss it somehow later). Also the removable car seats are not so terrible…they just feel real heavy at first and by the time the baby is done using it, you’ll feel like a buff mama 😉
