Bring on the Rain

It’s been a minute since I’ve last blogged. Things like always have been busy. Right now we’re in Portland living close to the the most amazing park in a neighborhood stocked with little libraries for the kids to explore.  It’s been such an adventure. A lot has happened I think both the kids have had birthdays since I last posted. We’ve travelled, we have gained new insights, and we’ve grown as a family. We are all looking forward to the coming seasons! It’s been too warm and we are ready for some rain! The kids have their rainboots out in anticipation and we are all watching the doppler like crazy.

Arabella is 5 now and full of independence, empathy, and spunk. She is honestly one of the most amazing humans I know. She cares for her brother in ways I never expected. When he cries she immediatly runs to him, rubs his back and sings to him (yep… totally melts my heart). Of course she also has those moments where he is “bothering her” as she puts it. 9A212CF8-C808-404C-A1B9-EE32B4A0E19B-COLLAGE

Elijah turned 2 but he recently had a language boom!  He’s talking in complete sentences and you can have a real conversation with him and can recognize  about 3 written words. He’s such a silly guy who laughs all of the time. He’s stubborn, loving, and daring. I swear I’ve never seen a child so fearless in my life. As his mom it terifies me hahaha. He gives some of the best snuggles and is obsessed with Battle bots! 3D9C7D7E-93F6-47B4-80A9-6DE8D1586E04-COLLAGE

Last weekend we spent in Canada. The beauty of homeschooling for kindergarten is all of the hands on learning the kids are getting. We did a unit on Canada and then we visited. The kids really enjoyed themselves as we hiked up to waterfalls, visited new beaches, explored historical sites, tried new food and met new people. It was such a great experince for all of us.
