Love Does

We recently started a new series at Central called

Love Does.

It’s based on the book “Love Does” by Bob Goff. We also started reading the book… so far from what I’ve read it appears to be a compilation of stories and  thoughts about the actions of love. It discusses the idea that love is not an inactive or apathetic quality but rather  active, sacrificial, bold, and counter- cultural. I make it sound boring but it’s a really good read! I’m excited to here Bob Goff speak at the end of the month.

Last week Central started the series with “Love Forgives“.

This week we conquered “Love Engages“.  <- THIS ONE IS WORTH WATCHING <3

My twitter is slowly becoming my soundboard for little tidbits that I want to remember from things I’ve heard or read. I encourage you to read the book or watch the series but in the meantime here are a few of the tiny things I’ve gleaned from the start of the series. I still have about half of the book to go and two more services!

The engagement of love is always going to cost you.

“If you never care about anyone else then there will not be anyone else left to care about you.”

Putting others first is very counter-cultural…

“Forgiveness is NOT easy, natural, approval of wrong doing, or denial of what happened.”

Forgiveness is never fair. No one deserves to be forgiven. But that’s what makes forgiveness so beautiful. No one is unforgivable.

“You know what it is about someone that makes them a friend? A friend doesn’t just say things; a friend does.”

We are as condemned as we condemn; we are as forgiven as we forgive.

“When it comes to love, there is no “either/or.” We love everyone, always.”

“…love is never stationary.”
