3 WEEKS!!!

Well my baby girl is already 3 weeks old. My big girl has already lost her newborn face and is growing into her little person characteristics. It’s crazy how much has changed within the last 3 weeks. We’re still getting used to the strange schedule at night… the ones where she wakes up and feed non-stop. Sometimes it’s frustrating and sometimes I feel like it’s just a special to get to have a little extra time with her. I have realized though that the next day it’s hard to get anything done. Not only am I exhausted but she is awake and ready to eat more. I call her my little milk-a-holic. She’s an eater! Now she even has a cute little round belly. I think she might be going through a growth spurt.  

The doctor had us start Vitamin D supplement drops just in case she’s not getting enough  milk but he said that she is gaining weight and looks very healthy. She’s certainly more alert now and likes to watch everything. She’s holding up her head and she likes to scoot about. 

Jake has taken a liking to her. He runs into the room when she starts crying and then he stares at us like he is telling us we need to take care of it. He also lets her sit on him while she is feeding. He just purrs. All of those stereotypes of cats trying to suffocate baby or steal their milk is WAY off when it comes to him. He is super gentle and cautious around her. He does run away when she is screeching and throwing a tantrum. I think it scares him a little bit. But other than that it seems he has become a little bit of a guard cat. 

Not many photos today… thank heavens for camera phones or I would never have any photos. Haven’t used my other cameras in forever! Just glad I have something to capture our little moments together.
