Grey Area
Well I don’t know what happened but the cloud cover blew away and now the mysterious skies have revealed sunshine and blue… Just not as blue as California.
Last night we were excited by our LA popcorn that we brought with us. Yep… Made us a little homesick for our big city full of stars, red carpet events, mickey mouse, and glistening beaches. It’s weird to think about leaving it. Neither of us really want to. We love SoCal. But something has to change. Perhaps God is calling us north, heaven knows others are.
But no matter what happens SoCal will always hold a place in our hearts, just as the pacific northwest has. They are so different they fill different places. Such beautiful places.
So here I sit way up north sipping on a fizzy drink and waiting. Waiting for the changes that may or may not be in store for us. The anticipation of the future is calling. Change is calling. I cannot believe how temporal life is.
We haven’t felt the warm breath of consistency in quite some time. The perpetual winter of change has followed us for some time. There’s a freezing drought blanketing us. But we keep believing in a hope that we cannot see. We know that things will change.. That’s the only thing that doesn’t seem to change.
I continue to be perplexed by the grey areas of life. I can’t help but think of Lawrence Kohlberg at times like these. His theories can expand far beyond moral development. His theories could trickle over into ethics, life, and maturity.
We change. We grow. We develop. Well most of us do. Others are stuck in limited stages of malnourished maturities and overstimulated minds. They are trapped forever in stagnant cerebral waters. They breathe in toxic air which corrupts their already compromised nervous system. Are they lost forever? Will they ever be habilitated? And are we responsible for these varied individuals?
I suppose that’s another grey area.
