Friday! I went into Sears, glad that the week was almost over. I also went knowing that in my mind I was going to discuss what was going on in our training class.<\/p>\n
Dean was in to evaluate Elizabeth (the intern-trainer), and after he was done Liz sent us on a 10 minute break. During that time I slipped up to Dean’s office. I discussed with him (all in secret) how the trainer (Elizabeth) was telling the class that she would teach us all how to ‘call the customer stupid by the end of the class, without really saying it’, or other things, like off topic discussions that last for 30 minutes to an hour – talking about Sex, Race, and tons of other stuff. He thanked me for coming in and letting him know, and said he would talk to her about it.<\/p>\n
2:30 comes around… Elizabeth says she has an annual meeting with her boss for 15 minutes just to discuss things to improve on (I didn’t know). Fifteen minutes later and she was still out of the class… then 20, then 30. She returned to the room and gave me full control to train the class on one of Sears systems we use. 30 to 45 minutes later (with about 10 or 15 minutes left in the day) she returned. The whole class asked why she was gone, and what he said. She just told everyone that she couldn’t talk about it.<\/p>\n
Friday night I was working at Central, and felt tired. Brandy brought me pizza, and I was good to go — or so I thought. The long days finally caught up to me, and I fell asleep at my desk at 8:30ish. I was woken up by 9:00 and went home shortly after that.<\/p>\n
This weekend was busy, Saturday Crystal came from Tucson to visit, I visited with her until later that night. Returned her to Tucson (for her parents) and started my return to Mesa around 10ish.<\/p>\n
I called Leah at 11ish and talked to her. She is my good friend from the UK for those that have trouble remembering. I talked to her until 7:30am. Crazy indeed…. it broke my record for being on the phone with anyone that long. We are all caught up! haha it was a great conversation.<\/p>\n
Sunday I slept until 1 (giving me about 5 and 1\/2 hours of sleep), got groceries.. helped with Joining Centrals Family Class and then went out for coffee with Lori and Brandy. After coffee Brandy and I caught up with JJ (who didn’t leave for Ohio until today due to car trouble) and me and JJ went bowling. My best game was 144. Hope JJ has a safe trip, he is going to drive 29 hours in 2 days (or that is his plan).<\/p>\n
So today I went into Sears<\/p>\n
I found out by letter that my training for Verizon starts on Friday.<\/p>\n
I arrived at 7:15, a bit early so I could talk to Elizabeth (the intern-trainer). I asked to talk to her in private, so after a minute we went to a small room to have our talk.<\/p>\n
First I laid out on the line that I was the one who talked to Dean (her boss) and told him about the off topic conversations that got her written up. She responded that she didn’t know it was me. I also told her I was giving my notice because I had a better job offer, but had expressed interest to stay at Sears- but they were simply unwilling to do anything.. telling me ‘they (Verizon) just have us beat on the pay scale’. She said she wanted to keep me in the class for the rest of the week but would see what Dean says (her boss).<\/p>\n
I was kinda surprised she didn’t wanna up and get rid of me when she found out I talked to Dean. Class goes on… 10am Liz hands me a paper (saying that I am giving up my position and not being fired) but.. telling me that Dean wants me to fill it out and be escorted out. I filled it out but Liz said that she would let me stay around until Lunch so I could grab some more pay.<\/p>\n
Lunch comes around and she escorts me out (after I finish helping the class) and on the way she tells me that she has ‘no hard feelings’ but in fact she ‘has a lot of respect for me doing what I did- because a lot of people in my situation would have sat back and done nothing about it’. She continued to say that she ‘appreciated it because she didn’t realize what she was doing’. Nearing the door she told me ‘I am going to enter you in the system so that if you ever want to come back here you have no problem, because I would like to see you back’.<\/p>\n
Wow, that really surprised me.<\/p>\n
Then I went on my way, had lunch got my tires rotated and balanced.. then hung out with Brandy for the rest of the afternoon.<\/p>\n
The rest of the week I will work daytime hours @ Central and have my nights free (until Friday). Pretty good eh? Then I start Verizon.<\/p>\n
And that’s the news kids. Horribly long, without a picture— how will you ever survive?<\/p>\n
I make someone’s nape wet, and then they even get goosebumps…. oooooh guess who.<\/p>\n
I’m sure some will skim hahaha.. so you do what you gotta.<\/p>\n
