Tri Phi.. no more.

I didn’t get to sleep last night until 11 am this morning. Funny isn’t it? I think so. So at church it was different, they did a lot of things with their hands… like before the worship service started they asked everyone to raise their hands and bless the worship team and repeat certain words. Then to the side of the congregation they were… ‘healing’? people.. I’m not sure. They had people go over, they said some words to them and then they lifted up their hands, and after a few minutes of the Usher or whoever it was touching their head they dropped to their knees, and a little later ended up face down on the floor for a few minutes. It was quite a sight to see. Before offering they asked everyone to take out the envelope and repeat certain words to bless the giving. And after the service was over they asked if anyone needed to come down and be healed. (All of which I did not take part in – but I observed with Ruth by my side.) I admit some of it made me feel uncomfortable – but I think it was good to see, it keeps opening my eyes to different things. I knew about such things but never really went to a church where they did it. I love the fact that ever since I’ve started to listen to God more, I’ve learned a lot more just on different levels. I’ve become wiser to things around me and in me. After I got back from church I went to sleep until 2:30.<\/p>\n
So it’s Sunday night and I am in the entrance to the cafeteria and a Tri Phi comes in and tells me ‘Lets Go.’ This was after I got back from eating. ‘Where?’ I asked…<\/p>\n
‘A Cookout at Kilnam’s house’<\/p>\n
‘I’ve already eaten – I’m not going’<\/p>\n
‘Yeah you are, lets go’ (and no the context wasn’t in a playful manner)<\/p>\n
‘No. I’m not.’<\/p>\n
‘Okay buddy you need to watch yourself. You talk about how you need to be growing closer to God but all you ever do is hang out and play with girls. You talk about how we never do anything, but you don’t come to our meetings. You think it is so easy to serve God? Than you come up with something and see how easy it is. (then finishing any thought he might have held he states) You always are complaining, but you need to take a good look in the mirror. That’s for real, you better check yourself.’<\/p>\n
(a momentary pause – then he walked out)<\/p>\n
I don’t come to the meetings, I guess not.. or so I’m told. I don’t attend the bible studies? I guess not.. or so I’m told. I wasn’t going to argue, it would’ve gotten me no where quick.<\/p>\n
Alright buddy, one speaks for all.. eh? For the record, How Good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity. Yeah – remember that? I am not a Tri Phi any more. It is a shame, because I got along with everyone else, (yes James has been fine for a while now) I didn’t tell anyone about my concerns with the group except for one Tri Phi who I confided in and told what was up. I won’t make that mistake again. I do not wish to be a part of this group and the cast of questionable characters, I don’t need to be a part of a social club, little loan a social club that is creating drama. How Christ like, that’s fine- turn the other cheek. I shall pray for everyone who is apart of the Tri Phi’s and I wish them the best, and for God to grow with each one to help them on their walk with the Lord.<\/p>\n
In other news – pray for Kacie Marie she needs your presence and guidance Lord, help her feel that You Are near.<\/p>\n
