Well it was just another crazy night at Cascade. I missed chapel today, hmm but why?<\/p>\n
The power went out. No joke<\/p>\n
This weekend I had a good time. On Friday I don’t really remember what I did; I chilled and hung out with Kacie a little. Then on Saturday I did what? Oh.. at the last minute I got some Blazer tickets. Yep.. you heard me. Preseason or not they are my team. I found 2 tickets for 4 bucks. How good is that? An NBA preseason game, I don’t care what you say.. to find a preseason game.. or any NBA game for under 10 bucks is a smoking deal. If you get 1 ticket for 2 bucks, that\u2019s unheard of.<\/p>\n
They have Blazers vs. the Raptors for this Tuesday, but I\u2019m not sure If I am going to buy them. <\/p>\n
WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU PASS SOMETHING UP LIKE THAT? You ask me.<\/p>\n
I tell you: THE GAME I ATTENDED WASN\u2019T WORTH THE 2 BUCKS TO GET IN THE DOOR.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s right, now you are going to hear me rip on the Blazers a little bit, why you ask? Because they need to be ripped into after how they played this last game. Let\u2019s go over some things that are basic.<\/p>\n
Shots: they missed every one. Oh no.. they really didn’t.. but they might as well have. They were down 20 to 30 points the whole game against a team that isn’t that great, or even playing that well. The Sacramento Kings. Besides its preseason and teams like the Kings, Lakers, Pistons, Timberwolves, Spurs etc, they don’t care about the preseason, or winning. In fact they typically run the bench through and see how things will work.<\/p>\n
So.. they shot horribly. So much you thought there was just a lid on the basket. But I assure you this is not the case when during halftime they switch ways, and the lid is now on the other hoop. It\u2019s stupid. Professional players should not play as bad as they played.<\/p>\n
You tell me \u2026 the blazers have no big contracts.<\/p>\n
I tell you: Darius Miles. Theo Ratliff. Zach Randolph. Okay.. Zach gets out of this one only because he didn’t play. Darius needs to be traded, and Theo is good on nights he isn’t complaining about an injury.<\/p>\n
This team is starting to drive me AWOL. No joke.<\/p>\n
The team played like a team for a little under six minutes in the whole game. What is the crowd thinking? Oh my goodness.. keep it going keep it going\u2026<\/p>\n
In the one part of the game that we actually scored, and gathered as much as to have a pace, we got within 11 points of tying the game.<\/p>\n
Yeah, well I am not a happy Blazer fan after seeing the way this team played. The thing that was worst, is that we will hear a lot of cop outs about why they played this way. They are a new team, they are young, and a lot of these kids haven’t seen anything past high school. Let me tell you this much, if they keep playing this way.. I have one thing to say: Send them back, let them get an education and maybe learn the basics of yes.. basketball.<\/p>\n
We started our game with some starters from last year: Ruben (who was one of the only players who gives it all every night.. we need a roster filled with Rubens), with Darius.. Sebetian, Joel, And did I mention Darius? who yes.. needs to be traded, because this Blazer fan is not going to forget what organization paid him off. What do I mean? Last year he went on a tirade against Coach Cheeks, using racial slurs against him, and tearing him down, leaving him defenseless. The coach doesn’t know what to do.. so he with the Blazers organization fines him. The Coach goes on to get fired, and through an accidental leak we find out that behind-the-scenes the Blazers worked out an agreement with Darius to pay him back for the fines (that were imposed to show that as an organization pledging to keep its fans, it wont stoop to this type of behavior.) He should have been traded the day after he acted out like that (it wasn’t the first problem with him)<\/p>\n
He wasn’t traded.<\/p>\n
Do you know why? I do.<\/p>\n
He is too much of a head case for anyone in the league to want to take on. He scored 42 points in game last year, and tore everyone up. You know what? He isn’t consistent on any level. Most nights you can count on him to be counterproductive if anything is to become of him at all.<\/p>\n
He is overpaid and we realized this just a season after we signed him. We are getting to be good at overpaying players (Zach, Theo, and Darius) but with Darius we should either cut him from our team, count our losses and move on \u2013 or better yet, trade him and get something lesser in value for him \u2013 so that an organization who is struggling to keep fans across the board don’t lose any more to any selfless jerks like this guy.<\/p>\n
Yeah you bet I\u2019m fusturated. Why didn’t we do anything about this crap in the off-season? What was the purpose behind all of this? To get Nate McMillian (who I think will do wonders for the team) and have him deal with Darius? Let\u2019s hope for Goodness sake that it works, and before Darius or Zach (the two lazy people on our team, and right now viewed as the cancers on the team among fans)<\/p>\n
I\u2019m going to send a copy of this to the Blazers Organization because of how outraged I am.<\/p>\n
Let me in the locker room. I\u2019ll yell at these kids who don’t want to give an effort for a oh so long 48 minutes. With timeouts and a halftime the whole day boils down to what? 2 hours. Big deal. They make more in one season than probably 90% of their fans do in one year. They can get over it and play. If you play and try hard and lose, I don’t rag on you \u2013 because you are showing effort. I saw players gasping for air after running up and down the floor while we were getting the crap beat out of us on the defensive and offensive boards.<\/p>\n
If I pay a whole two dollars for the nosebleed seats, go and clench my teeth together and sit through another game like that one.. I might not return for a while. That\u2019s right. It is bugging me and has if that\u2019s how they plan on playing, they should refund everyone’s money. I\u2019ve given this team a while to get their act together, and now stuff like this \u2013 basics, like Effort\u2026 I can handle a bad season, but let\u2019s have respectable players. I can take losing by 50 each game, but I want to see a team on the floor that leaves it all on the floor because they have (even if very little) respect for themselves, the fans, and the organization they play for. Yes, that\u2019s a team I can support. Has this team been that in the past few years? Off an on, at least we were winning. Fans can take players they hate, they just want to win. Fans typically wont take bad players and losing. I\u2019ll still be a Blazers fan for life, but please do something about this now.<\/p>\n
Do I think they will hear me? No.<\/p>\n
Do I feel better after ranting? A little.<\/p>\n
So now that was the longest post in a long time. If anyone really knows about sports and takes the time to read the sucker, man \u2013 props to you my friend.. props to you. Because If I know about 90% of the people who read my site, when its something big, you might as well not write at all\u2026 or at least its going to be read just the same way. Not at all.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m going to turn off my computer now before my battery goes totally dead, its like at 32% right now and I cant see in the dark, and I might sleep through my first class, and oh.. yes I do not have any way of waking up on time. I might sleep til 4pm.. lets hope not\u2026.. but rah! This will be posted soon enough..<\/p>\n
