I thought it was time that I update on my job search. \u00a0I am sure that you are looking forward to it and are just as excited as I am to tell you about it.<\/p>\n
2 prospects.<\/p>\n
Carnival and atbatt.com<\/p>\n
Carnival? \u00a0Yeah, they have their Princess and Cunard lines based right here in town. \u00a0I applied and was brought in for an interview. \u00a0They seemed to like me as they then took me for about 4 or 5 more interviews. \u00a0Along the way I was able to ask a lot of different questions about the company. \u00a0It was quite telling. \u00a0Some people told me the biggest challenge of working the job was dealing with co-workers, some said management and others said the type of customers.<\/p>\n
Then I asked about the corporate atmosphere. \u00a0Does the CEO and other corporate business units have a good pulse on the company? \u00a0This one everyone answered with a resounding no. \u00a0In fact most went on to tell me much more. \u00a0How they work no less than a tenth of a mile from him but have never met any of the executive staff in the 25 years they’ve worked there. \u00a0Others said it was hard enough trying to talk to your manager because they would never be around when you needed them.<\/p>\n
Well, career pathing… \u00a0It must be good right? \u00a0Um…. \u00a0Start off as a customer service agent at slightly above minimum wage. \u00a0Fast forward 1 and 1\/2 years after you have gone through all job types in the call center (sales, outbound sales, inbound sales) each one for a minimum of 6 months… then if you have the recent qualifications they need and the schooling (they made that clear)… then you could be considered.<\/p>\n
Nice.<\/p>\n
Not bad though. \u00a0It would be a job. \u00a0They said they liked me and are keeping me in consideration for another few weeks at which point they will let me know if they are moving forward or not.<\/p>\n
Then there is atbatt.com<\/p>\n
Small battery company located and operated locally. \u00a0Been around since 99′ and still doing a reasonable amount of business. \u00a0Seems like it would actually be a good fit. \u00a0I made it past the phone screening and the in person interview. \u00a0Now I wait to see if the CEO wants to meet with me. \u00a0If so– then I go in for a final interview.<\/p>\n
When I say small company, I mean small. \u00a0They have a call center with nearly 10 agents. \u00a0If you know company sizes and call centers – that should shock you.<\/p>\n
I don’t think its bad. \u00a0In many ways it reminds me of a previous job I had which will not be named. \u00a0Its like Voldemort \u00a0– ‘he who must not be named’ type of a deal. \u00a0But I say that it reminds me of a previous job I had in a good way. \u00a0I hope that one I am able to move forward with.<\/p>\n
Normally when I hope for something it doesn’t bode well, so I am hoping that it won’t ruin any chance I have.<\/p>\n
If those don’t pan out, then I am back to the drawing board. \u00a0Yes, that same frickin’ drawing board that I’ve been hopelessly staring at for so long now.<\/p>\n
I’ve been meaning to blog more this month, yet whenever I go to I end up forgetting what I was going to blog about in the first place.<\/p>\n
I have 2, lets see if I can squeeze one more out this month. \u00a0That’s right, a goal! \u00a0Whoohoo!<\/p>\n
I wish my friends blogged more.<\/p>\n

One last bit of news, was that this past weekend I had a super big migraine. \u00a0Haven’t had one this bad in well over a year. \u00a0I was bed ridden for a few days. \u00a0I wish it upon nobody. \u00a0I keep saying it every time after I have one— but man alive you really appreciate having a normal painless head after getting over one of those.<\/p>\n
