I had an interview today.\u00a0 It was probably one of the longest interviews I’ve had yet.\u00a0 It lasted some 2 and 1\/2 hours.<\/p>\n
I had an interview with Toyota Financial.\u00a0 They are a good strong company and it would appear as a good place to work.\u00a0 I have to wait until Friday before I will hear anything.\u00a0 I don’t really like waiting.\u00a0 I know as humans nobody likes to wait that much.\u00a0 You wait for food, or drinks, or a movie to start.. we are just impatient beings.\u00a0 However when it comes to jobs I’d rather know right up front.\u00a0 As tough (or easy) as that would be, I would prefer it that way.<\/p>\n
I passed the first round, and the second round.\u00a0 I got into the final round.\u00a0 I guess this is where they measure me up against everyone else.\u00a0 I’m not so sure I’ll fair as well as some others.\u00a0 I was speaking to one of the other candidates\u00a0before the interview started and she let me know that she’s in school.\u00a0 Going to school for her HR degree.\u00a0 I thought to myself “well that’s\u00a0nice” and then she said “since I’m not using my first degree anyway” uh.. beg your pardon?\u00a0 Oh I see.\u00a0 You are close to having 2 degrees.\u00a0 Here I was thinking I had a shot against\u00a0you or something.\u00a0 Pffft.\u00a0 Silly me.<\/p>\n
Its kind of irritating.\u00a0 What can you do?\u00a0 She came from University of Phoenix so she had been getting free schooling.\u00a0 I would do the same thing.\u00a0 Yes, I really would.\u00a0 The only hitch to my plan is that they don’t hire people without a degree anymore.\u00a0 Fun.\u00a0 Oh well.<\/p>\n
Getting back to what I was saying.\u00a0 I never know what to think after I walk out from an interview.\u00a0 I mean, if you remember there are jobs which they literally promised me the job – only to back track and tell me that they were going another direction.\u00a0 I keep saying that “somethings gotta give” and eventually.. something should.\u00a0 Right?<\/p>\n
I don’t have anything against anyone with schooling.\u00a0 Obviously I am engaged to someone who has her degree and her masters.\u00a0 However.. it doesn’t make me feel very valuable when time after time I hear that I am declined due to not having a degree.\u00a0 Yet on the other side of things.. I hear that people with a degree are being told they have too much experience.\u00a0 Maybe there is just no winning.<\/p>\n
I will say something though.\u00a0 Last post I asked for a little help from upstairs and the next day Toyota called me.\u00a0 If anything it gave me a little bit of hope.<\/p>\n
