We have long needed to replace the flooring in our kitchen for a couple of years. The last owners left it all in pretty poor shape, and over time, it has gotten progressively worse. We were going to have the whole thing sanded down and reused, but when they came out, they found it was a very low-quality ‘builders grade’ floor that they had used, warped, and unable to be sanded. Great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When they were pulling it up, they mentioned it looked like the previous owners’ dogs just were allowed to go crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mean, we couldn’t afford it anyway – so what’s a couple thousand more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the flooring is out of the kitchen, we have had to resort to a lot of quick, easy dinners. One such was going to Costco, then driving to the park to let the kids run around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are now entering our dry\/hot stage of the season, so we decided it was time to wash our car. Luca wanted to help (but he really just wanted to get wet, don’t let him fool you).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This past week, Sky got away for a few days with her sisters (and cousin) as they went to the coast. I think she enjoyed it more than she thought she would. The kids were all with me and survived until she got back home. That’s a win, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, the floor. They are nearing completion. A job they initially said they could do within a day or so has now ballooned to over 2 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh! We also noticed that one of the couches was wearing into the old wood floor in the kitchen\/family room area. As a result, we sold that couch (especially after having new flooring installed).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What else?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next week we will have Mega Sports Camp. I’ll be helping out, and so will Sky and Arabella. Luca and Elijah will be part of it- and Ezra will have his time in the nursery. Of course, this is scheduled to begin when we have a chance of hitting 100 for the first couple of days, because why not?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
