The doors to the 95,000-square-foot literature haven opened on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s the second-largest branch in the Multnomah library system, boasting unique offerings such as a 200-seat auditorium, an audiovisual studio, an outdoor plaza, and a rooftop terrace. We have watched this thing being built in our backyard since 2023; it’s nice to see it’s finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The branch holds over 200,000 items and employs at least 51 staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Opening day celebration offered free coffee (we missed it by the last person) and free tamales. Yum yum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
