Hey there,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have been treated to some beautiful sunsets this month. I’ve particularly liked the ones that are spotted with clouds all around. It reminds me of a painting that Bob Ross would do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This nice weather has also led us to have cookouts. This is one of the best times of the year. One day it’s beautiful and cool, clouds spotting the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, due to some unstable weather, you might get a storm to pop up (rare, but it happens). We were treated to one such storm while at church on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, I get a kick out of (Jerry), it references Jeremiah. Fun fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I never tire of rain, or the smell of it – it has a name too (as most everything does). Petrichor (PEH-tri-core) is the\u00a0earthy, refreshing scent\u00a0that occurs when rain falls on dry ground or pavement. It’s a mix of chemical compounds released from the surface, including\u00a0geosmin\u00a0(a musty, earthy compound from soil bacteria and blue-green algae),\u00a0ozone<\/strong>\u00a0from lightning, and\u00a0volatile plant oils. It is one of my favorite smells, especially when strong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arizona would have that smell often – especially in the monsoon. Up in the PNW? It isn’t as common, but we caught a smell of it this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bible often compares God’s presence to the morning mist and the spring rains that water the earth. To me, the rich aroma of that first rain is nature’s way of saying “breathe deeply”\u2014inviting us to pause, inhale His peace, and remember the One who makes all things fresh and new.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
